We booked a last-minute weekend away and the Black Swan was
OK. Well, the best bit was the friendly welcome. I've stayed in worse places, but not for a long long time. If I'd taken the time to read the other reviews maybe I would have not enjoyed this night's experience. The route upstairs is a bit of a rabbit warren—one that would benefit from a hoover over the carpets and, ideally, a scrub (or even repaint) of the doors. Odd holes in the ceiling were, I hope, just wear and tear rather than evidence of previous guests trying to escape. Our room was spacious, with a nice double bed. The mattress was very firm, and I could feel the springs, but since I’m not the Princess from the fairy tale, a single pea under the bed wasn’t going to ruin my night (not that I slept well on it). The carpet, however, did need its stains removed, and the hole in the wall behind the door suggested tempers—and slamming—had flared there before. Had to search around to find power for the kettle...I guess that's what the adjoining room is for. The bathroom was accessed through a linked twin room, which gave it plenty of space, though it could really use some TLC. A large cobweb hung from the ceiling, the shower grouting was heading towards black, and the retro 80s tiles were a reminder of when the hotel probably had its heyday. Then there were the little touches: old TV brackets still on the wall even though the screen now sat on a table. That summed the place up, really—functional enough, but lacking love, attention, and thought. And about those tempers
most pubs get the odd scuffle, but the fight breaking out in the bar as we arrived didn’t feel like a once-in-a-blue-moon event.

I stayed overnight with my daughter, while visiting a friend in Leominster. I loved this hotel for its Britishness, it’s olde-worlde feel, and particularly the decor in our room. Very tastefully done, colours materials, & the flowers a nice little touch We didn’t have a meal there because we had other arrangements with our friends but everything looked very nice and it was very popular with local people They do have live bands on occasionally and I would’ve liked to have stayed to see a performance but it was nice to hear people having fun in the bar, and it wasn’t obtrusive in our room (I've since stayed there again with my wife and got the same room 😀. This time got to have a drink in the bar and listen to the chat which was fun đŸ€©!) Beds were really comfy, the ensuite was very nice with a perfect shower and everything was provided, tea coffee milk sugar TV, power sockets, and of course drawers and cupboards. I’d deffo stay there again. It was very good value & much better than a Travelodge or Premier Inn which are in my opinion hugely overpriced They don't do breakfasts or food right now but watch this space! We got a great breakfast from Roy's Cafe just across the car park! )

We travelled to Leominster with my child, hoping for a simple, acceptable stay at The Black Swan Inn. The receptionist was friendly, which was the highlight. The room, however, offered some ‘extras’ we hadn’t booked: a broken bathroom door that a child couldn’t open or close, and plenty of bed bugs running across the bedding. Not quite the kind of wildlife experience we were looking for. We left immediately and booked another place to actually get some sleep. The receptionist promised a refund, but apparently that was just part of the show. The owner ignored every message, ignored Booking.com as well, and – unsurprisingly – no refund was ever given. So yes, we paid for a night in a room we didn’t use, and got silence in return. Unless your idea of a holiday includes funding someone else’s bed bug collection, I’d strongly recommend avoiding this place

First impression was the window was smashed in the front door, a bit of cardboard was put in its place. Staff couldn’t find us in the dairy. Room wasn’t ready so had to wait until it was. Bar staff was very nice very chatty. We went to the local Italian to eat while room was made up. Arrived back to the hotel where a band was playing. Was told the band will play until 1am. Asked to be taken to our room. We were escorted to the family room by the lovely bar staff. The double room was jammed packed of old furniture. The bed was made up with all clean sheets. The wall beside the bed had what looked to be blood and snot on the wall. The toilet moved when sat on. The top of the hot tap came off in your hand. The shower curtain was dirty and been used previously by many customers before. The water was Luke warm and didn’t come out very forceful. The band eventually stopped playing at 1am and what I can only think is the locals became upset and decided to start fighting each other. Someone must of locked the front door. The regulars didn’t stop and continued to fight outside and kick the pub door in. I have contacted the pub many times and...
