Always a favourite place of mine, previously I rated it 5. However, I visited post lockdown and wasn't as happy as usual. Social distancing has seen the seating split by heavy metal screens which has damaged the ambience. Feels somewhat cramped and as the screens are solid you can't really see much and the atmosphere is flat because of it. Hopefully as restrictions lift the screens will be removed, shame they weren't partially clear or something. Read moreFriendly staff, table service ( walk in, find a nice cosy spot and the staff pop down with the handy pocket sized cocktail menu), free popcorn nibbles, cosy atmosphere, quirky features (half bath seat.. tee hee) and chatty locals!!! One can lose sooo much time in here, take a left as you approach the bar and you will find a nice 2 seater snug and a 6 seater (other seats also) snug. Feels like an old cellar with low lighting and exposed brickwork... go on in... chill out while sipping drinks, chatting with new friends and old friends, if your lucky they will have a good...
Read moreOne of my favourite bars in Shrewsbury. Lively and chilled at the same time. Can be expensive for cocktails but they are good and a bit different. If I don’t want to spend too much I just opt for a pint of beer or a bottle of aspall cider. The music is cool and sometimes a bit loud, one time I couldn’t hear myself speak but it might have been because it was a Friday, I think they lower the music on other days of the week. Perfect place for a date, group of people and after work drinks. The crowd always seems a little more mature than other bars...
