We did a pub stop over in the camper van. Was last min, but they accommodated us. As we had already eaten, we stayed in to have a few drinks instead. Good selection of Gins. Had a Hendrix and fever tree tonic with Cucumber and a Brockmans served with blueberries 🫐 We sat out on the balcony, which overlooked the castle and harbour. Beautiful setting and greeted with a glorious sunrise in the morning while enjoying a coffee, watching the harbour, and taking in the breathtaking scenery 🩵 Chris, the staff member was helpful also thank you 😊 Very cosy interior, roaring log burner. Beautiful clean toilets also! I will definitely be returning to try food next time for sure. Great location 👌 thank you 😊

We are staying in a lovely Airbnb 100 yards from the Castle View Public House. The title doesn’t accurately describe this business. The quality of the food is superb and (as others have described) more like a restaurant. The staff are extremely welcoming and attentive going out of their way to ensure we had a great meal. There are options for vegetarians and vegans and special attention is paid to anyone with allergies. The ambiance is superb without the views but when you add the breathtaking scenery of the estuary it is the icing on the cake. We will definitely visit the Castle View before returning home to Desborough in Kettering.

If you ever go to Conwy in Wales, you should definitely check this historic PUB, the food here is amazing! And everything is fresh and locally sourced! We had to come again and get our last holiday meal👀 before we “hit the road Jack 🎶”. First time we had the steaks that were amazingly delicious with a charcoal flavour! Today i went for the traditional fish and chips and my partner went for the steak again😎, we weren’t disappointed! The staff is amazingly attentive, welcoming and with bright smiles! And take it from an ADHD fussy eater😏! Thank you Castle View Bar & Restaurant for making our little Easter break even better! 👌

We have been regular customers at the Castle View. We stoped in on the off chance today after a walk. Taking our eldest son and his girlfriend in for a sunday lunch with us. After a long wait, not because of being over busy i might add, our meal arrived. We had ordered 2 adult roast beef dinners, 1 adult roast chicken dinner and a child's size roast beef dinner. when the meal came we showed some concern over the size of the adult size chicken dinner, it was much smaller than the roast beef a somewhat small piece of anaemic chicken, no signs of being roasted in any way, the waiter didn't seem to show any concern over the complaint that we put to him before we had even started the meal, very disappointed, not only by his reaction but also a 'couldn't care' manner. He thought it was alright and left us. We didn't have a dessert after because we were all upset. When it came to paying the bill the same waiter took our payment even after we said 3 of the meals were good but the chicken diner was a poor child's size portion. When I said I think you could have been a bit more cooperative he clearly wasn't bothered or concerned that our son wasn't satisfied with his meal and did not notify the manager or chef to the issue. Really disappointed over this when we bought up the concern in the first place i think he could have made issue resolving suggestions but just couldn't care less . It's really a shame that a lovely weekend with the children ended on such a sour note and they were travelling back to Manchester with that memory. We are regular customers and often eat there ourselves plus go for the odd glass of wine on a walk back from Conway. I have been involved myself in catering for a long time even though I have retired now, both my husband and I are self employed and would be devastated if our staff treated our clients like this. Very disappointed and feel quite cross with the manner of couldn't care less attitude of the waiter. Mr...

Oh my ! I have driven past this wonderful place for the last 6 years umpteen times and have now become bored with the usual White Lion, Pen y Bryn, Cottage Loaf etc for family get togethers and so on ( which are lovely but I really wanted a change ) so I took a punt as my mum has come to stay for a few days and she’s a vegetarian. I rang and booked for the five of us and explained that mum’s a veggie, abs no problem 👍 stacks on the menu for her ☺️ Castle View even returned my call the day before as I was so worried about the veggie options. Our Sunday lunch including the veggie options were simply “perfect” the garlic mushrooms were to die for, the roasts come with ample gravy and veggies plus a huge yorkie pud ! The lambs leg was succulent and the deserts were also beautifully presented and tasty. The front of house staff were there for our every request, thank you ladies. Absolute top notch and thank you to the kitchen staff and chef for a beautiful Sunday lunch. Please go visit the Castle View, yes the prices are a touch higher but I promise you, it’s well worth the service, ample food and overall quality. 5 stars all round ! Plenty of on site parking too. BIG thank you, what a treasure to find, we will definitely be back soon !!! Thank you Liza, Penrhyn...

When we arrived for our booked table We were met by the manager who was quite curt/sharp when he greeted us which made us feel uncomfortable and gave an indication of what our time here was going to be like during our visit. We were not disappointed, firstly the food, We chose steak and ale pie which was advertised as "homemade" what we had was not...and a little pricey. Secondly the staff apart from the manager his staff were lovely, attentive and professional. We understand that they have just opened and things take a little time to get up to speed but customer courtesy from the manager is a basic in this business, and food ordering ro match bookings can be a dark art to get right, but we may of overlooked the food quality but because of this our visit felt uneasy and with the low grade pub /chipshop fare amplified this is why we have given this rating. You may ask yourself "why did they not complain at the time?" Well the manager would of possibly apologised for his demeanor , maybe offered a token to rectify his manner but the damage had been done at the entrance. I hope this feedback is taken in a constructive way and wish his business success...
