Beautiful little cafe nice modern decoration. The young man who took our order at the counter looked totally disinterested, unenthusiastic, and had very little social skills,we ordered a pot tea for two ,a toasted teacake, as a main we ordered mash ham parsley sauce and peas, sausage egg and chips , the food was good and reasonably priced apart from the chips they overcooked and hard shame . The problem was we waited well over well over 30 minutes for the main to arrive also the tea cake came with the main meal not the tea?also people came in and ordered 15 mins after us and got served before us for a take away meal,The girl that served us our meals looked equally unenthusiastic and disinterested, only saying the name of the meals she was holding. It spoilt a potentially really good dinning experience as the food was a good standard and plentiful, the cafe itself really clean and modern, but the total lack of customer service verging on rudeness, let's it's down massively, I feel sorry for the owners that have obviously put alot of thought and effort into the...
Read moreMy elder son having read the latest Jasper Fforde novel which mentioned " a full Welsh breakfast with laver bread, cockles and thick bacon down in Mumbles" invited his brother & me on an expedition to find one?
Having parked up and no idea where to to have our breakfast were encouraged by two older members of the village to "try Trams" so we did.
A very clean inviting but very large cafe was our port of call and with no hesitation ordered the works
It exceeded our expectations and the laver bread & cockles were served as a side dish and were absolutely delicious.
Inexpensive and elegantly presented with our choice of tea & coffee ( filtered was also on the menu) there were the usual beans, eggs, hash browns, toast and fried bread along with 3 very thick -- you couldn't call them rashers that would be a disservice -- pieces of very tasty bacon.
There were also the daily papers for patrons to read along with useful directories and leaflets on " what's on"
I would heartily recommend a visit -- well worth the trek . Will definitely come again....
Read moreFood is great, but the service, the staff horrific.
I wouldn't advise anyone go here.
The other day i witnessed the most appalling situation where a child had a boiling cup of tea tipped onto them "accidentally admittedly" which itself happens but it was the awful and i mean awful way the situation was handled by the member of staff and the team here that has totally ruined my experience at the cafe.
The team shouting at the parents and blaming the child, it was horrible to see and utterly appalling. I honestly don't believe even basic first aid was offered. I understand it can be stressful situation but basic safety requirements weren't met in this instance. I really hope the family take this further because it wasn't remotely acceptable and the cafe should learn from this situation so it never happens to anyone again.
I left as soon as I finished my food and will never...
