Kegbelly — Restaurant in Great Britain

Lovely to have somewhere different in Whitchurch. The food was good, as was the beer and the atmosphere. However, following 2 visits recently there are a few things about Kegbelly that do not feel quite right.

Firstly, It's not totally clear what it's supposed to be - a restaurant, a bar, a disco?? Both saturday evenings it has been busy with no tables available- which is good - however, is not so good if you have come in to eat. It is very uncomfortable when you have to battle with local people to get a table or stand next to tables when it looks like they are leaving. If you don't have a table, the only place to stand is in the path of the people delivering food to tables so you constantly have to move out of the way. Even worse when tables are cleared out of the way for the dj and dancing...

Secondly, the toilets were disgusting on both occasions - no toilet paper, one toilet was overflowing and they were...

If you want to be able to untuck your chair to go to the bathroom, don't go here, because you can't. The tables are unbelievably close together, I was further away from my partner than I was to the people on the table next to me and I couldn't hear a thing that he was saying, and everything they were. If you get overstimulated easily, avoid this like the plague, or bring the super sound cancelling loop earplugs because mine did nothing. It had a great vibe and the employees felt really welcoming - more than anything, it is nice to have something active and exciting on this side of whitchurch where it feels like a bit of a community is being built. Although, it would be great if better situations could be sorted for weather proofing the outside area considering how busy this place can get on a Tuesday!
