The second restaurant they have and equally just as good. We have been to the smaller place many, many times before and the new place does not disappoint either. A much bigger place, lots more tables to be able to cater for parties, etc. Food still as delicious as ever, staff are friendly and welcoming too. This place is closer to home for us, so much easier now to get our fill of sushi. Highly recommend to any sushi lover, best in Wales in my opinion. Well done sushi life for another successful place, we will be seeing you again soon 👍😁 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
EDIT:
Went back there today 8th June 2024 for what we thought would be another excellent evening again, but we were very wrong. We arrived 8 minutes early for our booking time to an empty restaurant... Normally no problem. We were told by a male staff member to go back outside with the other patrons as our booking wasn't allowed yet... Absolutely unbelievable. Lights on, doors open, staff milling around and refused entry with 2 other booking parties too waiting outside with us, all of us just stood outside a bus stop waiting like fools. We normally spend £200 plus for three people every time we go there. Today, the manager was not there and absolutely awful customer service. This completely ruined our entire evening as we were to celebrate my son's 21st birthday there. It will certainly make us think twice next time we think about booking here.
2nd EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE:
If you needed the extra 8 minutes to prepare (which is unlikely), maybe keep the doors locked until you are ready to serve customers, this will avoid any issues in the future. We have had the same booking time as before at your same location, the manager was on site, doors unlocked, 10 minutes before reservation time and I asked if we could enter, then, no problem... this is customer service at its best. You are not a McDonald's serving fast food, you are a high end restaurant serving high quality foods... 8 minutes before your customers reservation time should not be an issue for your staff to manage and accommodate. Most customers arrive before the reservation time... this is the unbelievable part of it all. If it is, maybe move the reservation times to an acceptable level for your...
Read moreDon’t bother if you’re vegan! Good service, good atmosphere and nice place, but food options for vegans mean even though I’m local I won’t be returning unless they update their menu. Firstly, they use ‘vg’ for vegetarian and ‘v’ for vegan, which is completely against the norm and very confusing - glad my friend pointed out the key for me! Secondly, the actual menu items are really limited for vegans which feels unnecessary - seriously, you can’t make a katsu curry or veggie tofu noodles without any animal products? It’s 2024, come on guys! Just a bit disappointing. Ended up paying £18.50 to make the veggie platter vegan - could have pretty much got the equivalent in a yo sushi Tesco mega deal. Look, I had a nice time, it’s a nice place, I don’t want to complain too much but I left pretty disappointed in the food options when usually this type of cuisine caters much better to dietary...
Read moreAt Sushi Life in Whitchurch, Cardiff, diners are treated to a lively dining experience amidst tasteful decor featuring Geisha and Chinese paintings. The menu boasts delicious offerings such as salmon sashimi, tempura prawns, yakisoba, and a tempting maki platter. While the sushi is on the pricier side, our £80 bill for two was justified by the quality of the food and the welcoming service. Sushi Life is definitely a restaurant worth visiting for a memorable sushi feast, albeit one that might be reserved for special occasions due to...
