King Billy Music Bar — Restaurant in Great Britain

I had been looking forward to seeing Arkham play at The King Billy and we travelled an hour to see them from Leicestershire. Initially we were impressed with the venue, very spacious etc. How wrong we were! If I could give a zero star rating I would! The band played their first set and were told to pack up and go....they were too 'heavy' for the landlord who didn't have the guts to tell them himself!! He sent the DJ to tell them in the interval. Arkam were booked as a heavy metal band, so they knew exactly what they were getting!! A lot of people were very annoyed....we had gone out for a night out and it was a complete shambles because of the unprofessional actions of the Landlord, who only wanted to pay them half the agreed amount. It would bearly cover the bands travel costs! It spoiled our night and also others who were waiting for the second set to start. On a separate note the bar staff either got the drink orders wrong or served them in the wrong glasses. I ordered a Gin and lemonade and it was served in a whisky glass! The ladies toilets had no toilet paper and nothing to dry your hands on after washing, and having to step over puddles of urine on the floor...terrible facilities especially after opening up after Covid!! We shall not be visiting the King Billy again...

I was here on Friday (25th July 2014) and had a great night! There was a covers band who were very entertaining and enjoyable and the atmosphere was great too. When the drink I initially asked for wasn't in the bar the barmaid offered to go and check the cellars for me in case there was some there (I declined her kind offer and chose something else) but she was very willing to check, not something you see everyday and shows the staff care about your night too! Whenever I've been over to the 'King Billy' it has always been to see a band and they have a great range of rock bands so whatever you like you will find something for you. Well...

Great Rock Venue we came to see local heroes LOKI and were not disappointed. We noticed a brilliant sound engineer who maximised the performance of all involved. Turned out to be an unforgettable night and aforementioned sound engineer was lead singer of Still Remains UK. LOKI made their debut as guests supporting Still Remains and have left their mark with their own style and performance. All bands got a shout out at the end . We will definitely come again, the acoustics coupled with attentive bar staff cool beer garden and a pool table make for a rocking...
