Maryland Chicken — Restaurant in Great Britain

I recently placed an order from Maryland Chicken on Narborough Road in Leicester through Uber Eats. I went for a simple and classic choice of wings and chips. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, although it was lukewarm by the time it got to me, so I did have to reheat it before eating. That was a bit disappointing, as it would have been much better served hot, but it was not enough to completely put me off.

The wings were actually very impressive in terms of size and taste. They were well seasoned, crispy on the outside, and the flavour was very enjoyable. As is typical with this kind of chicken shop, the wings were quite greasy, but that is usually expected with fried food. If you are ordering from a place like this, it is something you are likely prepared for.

The chips were decent, not particularly memorable, but they complemented the wings well and were cooked to an acceptable standard. In terms of value, it is definitely good if you are looking for a cheap chicken meal that hits the spot.

Overall, I was fairly satisfied with the experience and would consider ordering again to try a few different items...

Called into the shop today about 3pm I orders strip feast family meal deal £15 came with chicken 4 chips n 1Bottle of drink 4 bone chicken 50p each another £2 .. then I asked for spicy chicken wings I was told it’s comes with 20 wings chips and 1Bottle of drink .. totally £31 Enough for 6 people I got home opened it up first thing I noticed No Bottles of pop but 3 cans of pop 🤦‍♀️ NO 4 boned chicken and 1 portion of chips No drink I called this shop immediately no answer I called again and again and again so in the end I left a voice message with my phone number and now it’s 8.45 pm and Nothing .. I’m fuming and feeling ripped off and taken advantage of my disability. Knowing cus he could see how I struggle to get out my car and with walking aides plus having struggle to stand at the desk to order food I asked if I could sit a while and to please make sure everything is there .. This man even repeat back my order to me .. But come on £31 pounds for long s of the order to be missing .. I’m gonna keep trying to phone in the hope they...

This was hands down the worst food experience I have ever had. I ordered a family meal, expecting at least something decent for the price, but what I got was beyond disgusting. The meat was rotten — it stank so badly the moment I opened the box that it made me gag. The smell alone was unbearable, let alone the thought of actually eating it. This was not just poor quality; it was outright dangerous. Selling spoiled, foul-smelling meat to paying customers is absolutely unacceptable and shows zero regard for basic hygiene, safety, or respect.

I am furious that this place dares to serve food in such a disgraceful condition. It’s not just disappointing — it’s a complete health hazard. Honestly, this Maryland should be investigated and shut down if this is the standard they operate at. I will never, ever order from here again, and I strongly warn others: do not waste your money and risk your health...
