Visited this fantastic Indian restaurant on Saturday 7th June. Parking is available in and around the restaurant. There are a flight of stairs to go up to gain access but there is a stair lift available. It would be advisable to book also. We were warmly welcomed to a lovely decorated and cosy restaurant by lovely friendly staff. The seating is comfortable and the menus are lovely with plenty of options for all with a selection of english dishes to suit children, vegetarian and vegan. The selection of pickles to accompany the poppadoms were really tasty and fresh and the tables tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We opted for boiled rice with peas, pilau rice, chicken tikka chilli balti, and Beef kala bhuna, with a side of Onion bhajee, keema naan (packed with delicious lamb) and plain naan. The menu is the first where they offer a wide selection of beef dishes. I must say i have visited many many Indian restaurants and others over the years, even 2 very close to this restaurant recently and this is the very first i have given 5 stars across the board and very well deserved. The food was amazing and we couldnt believe how mouth watering delightful the beef and balti dishes were. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough and its staff. This restaurant blew me away and i have had over 1.7 million views on my posts but let me tell you ..... this is the jewel in the crown and we will be back every month now and this will be my go to Indian restaurant. Get yourself down here to try the best Indian restaurant in 10 counties. Another note... the toilets are probably the cleanist i have seen. Well done Mezbaan....
Read moreVisited here on Wednesday evening in a group of 13 and had the set meal deal. The ambiance is quite nice, offering a cosy space that sets the stage for a pleasant dining experience. However, as the atmosphere invites you in, the service left us feeling a bit neglected, probably because we were a big group. The service, unfortunately, could use a little pep.
There was a long wait to order and a long wait between starter and main courses. Drinks were forgotten or missed completely. Even a long wait for the bill which we eventually went up to the counter for. Once our mains finally arrived it felt similar to being at an auction as three staff at the same time were shouting out different dishes and you needed a sharp ear to figure out who had got yours. The staff, while doing their best, didn’t quite hit that friendly note.
On the upside once the food was received its was generally good and certainly feels good value for money.
Maybe it was because we were a big group it was lacking in that extra bit of attention and they were really quite busy with walk-ins as well.
Overall we wouldn't rule out another a visit as the food was great and maybe it was just a bad...
Read moreAfter the sad decline of Exotic Dining we were pleased to read that new owners would be taking over the premises. On Saturday 2nd November we decided to turn up without booking at 5pm. When we arrived the place was warm and we were greeted by the new owners and a friendly familiar face from Exotic days. Service was first class and prompt. The food was superb starting with delicious poppadoms. My only criticism was the red chutney has been swapped for lime pickle. The mains (Jalfrezi x 2) were served with mushroom rice which were all cooked to perfection. We both opted for the lamb, which was very tender and tasty, there was so much lamb that I couldn’t finish all of my meat. Four poppadoms, two lamb jalfrezi with mushroom rice, a glass of wine and an ice cold Coca Cola came to £42, which represents very good value for the money. The place has had a make-over and looks really modern and had a really nice warm feel. We will definitely be coming back and wish the new owners every success...
