In my over 40 years of life; visiting Misugo in Windsor has been the single worst dining experience in my existence.

On my first visit, I asked for a take away. The man in the restaurant told me that they didn’t do take aways and I should leave. I asked him if he was sure about that because their website information and info on their shop window stated that they did do take away. After a brief exchange he finally admitted that they did take away, then the manager came down and asked him if there was a problem. It was very embarrassing.

I decided to visit again a few days later as the restaurant was very close to where I was working and I had a short period of time to eat before I started work. I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt as everyone makes mistakes sometimes and perhaps there was a misunderstanding. However the second experience was even worse. I was having a sit down meal with my mother and told the waiter that I would only be able to stay for a short period of time as I had to get to work, but that my mother would stay and finish the meal and settle the bill. After I left the restaurant, the manager gave me a horrified look, as if she thought I was trying to leave without paying, she then ran to the table with the bill and demanded my mother pay her immediately, despite the fact that she was in the middle of her meal. They then pestered her throughout her meal and attempted to take her plate away before she had finished eating and made it obvious that they wanted her to leave. This treatment was specifically targeted towards her and not the other customers.

On top of the terrible treatment the quality of food wasn’t very good. You can get better quality sushi from a medium sized supermarket.

I would highly recommend that diners avoid the restaurant, especially when the Ichiban restaurant which is right next to it has a much nicer atmosphere, fresher quality of food and a welcoming and friendly service.

I would give Misugo 0 stars if that...

Cannot believe here are such good reviews. What happend to this restaurant?

It was the worst experience ever. Avg food, rude staff, refusing card payment. Will never return. Sushi was a bit dry, not fresh. The pork katsu curry was normal but the katsu tasted really poor. Dry and tough and much bad than WASABI's katsu. The highlight was the staff. Somewhat rude, never friendly evem though we were the only customer. Finnalle was even annoying. After we finished the food, they said their card machine does not work so asked me to get some cash. The cash machine near the restaurant was not even free withdraw one. so I complained about that but they said anything helpful but kept standing by us and asked for the cash without saying sorry. The expirience Really really ruined my day. My wife was...

Popped in for lunch and had a reasonable meal. First I tried some salmon sashimi and it was surprisingly good with a nice texture and a fresh taste. I then tried a main of prawn tempura ramen. The ramen was not quite what I was expecting as I’m used to ramen’s being quite tasty with a miso or soy broth, but this ramen had a milky flavour which made it more of a Chinese style vegetable soup ramen than a Japanese style ramen. The noodle texture and quality wasn’t that bad, but the noodles were also a little big and not as think as I usually prefer. The tempura prawns were nice however with a crispy batter and a fresh prawn within. Overall the service was friendly and the price not too bad at just under twenty pounds. I’d come back but will probably go for...

This place is slightly hidden away from all the other attractions in Windsor. One would need to make a point to go here otherwise it might be missed. Great choice for japanese food, by British standards, its great! The prices are also really reasonable, the food fills you up and doesn't pretend to be something it's not. They really try to make you a well presented and fulfilling meal here. It's also worth noting that they throw in a soup with your meal. This isn't stated on the menu, but it pairs great with whatever food you're eating. The only negative I noticed was that the salmon was slightly warm, room temperature at most. Absolutely wrong with it. Just slightly surprising. Otherwise as fresh as you can get here.

Reasonable price but not my cup, and one thing that made me felt bad before the dish ready. The chopsticks served is typical Chinese chopsticks with round head. Japanese chopsticks in point heads, it's designed for easy picking Japanese food. I wonder how serious they treat the food. I had Teriyaki Salmon for my lunch. The salmon is quite dry without the sauce; the tempura is a kind of deep fried food instead of real tempura. I ordered a cup of brown rice tea, it tasted very very mild and smelled like normal tea. Quite disappointed with the high Google star level. Personally I can say it's Chinese-Japanese style food, not Japanese food.
