A nice little coffee shop at what’s becoming known as the craft end of Windsor. Over the years several independent shops have tried their luck around this area which is a bit out of the way from the main shopping centre. Some have done well but some have struggled to make a living and end up going. It has not been helped by Costa opening in the same street and this has affected the number of shops that have closed. However, Millars Eatery Windsor should do better with its range of homemade foods and its own blended coffees. As you walk in you are greeted and asked where you would like to sit. However, you can if you like order at the counter, but table service is ok with me. The coffee is good, and I would get the double shot even if you are not a strong coffee lover. When I was in the café there was a gentleman who was Italian and requested his cappuccino done the Italian way. Not sure how this is done but the gentleman proclaimed that this was the best coffee it had outside of Italy and this was now his regular coffee shop. The food looked good, but I have not tried it myself yet. However, the people I was with loved it and the service was fast. I hope that this place does well as I'm so fed up with the Vanilla coffee shop brands chucking out mass produced coffee in big chain stores. I hope we can all support the independent as we do not want them to go from our high streets! As this place is off the Beaten Track you may ask is it worth the walk…. Yes as you will not only get great food and coffee but will see all the other great shops at this...
Read moreI’d found this place by chance on my last visit to Windsor but had neglected to note the name or the address so when I visited Windsor again earlier this week I had to search for it. It was well worth the search! Windsor has no shortage of places to buy a cup of coffee and get a bite to eat. BUT most of them are chain restaurants with employees who don’t seem to care if you ever come back. Millars Eatery is the opposite of that. The coffee and the food are great. Fresh quality ingredients with great care in the preparation, you can actually taste all that. But it’s even more than just that; the employees seem genuinely happy to be there AND the cafe is spotless! I owned a big coffee shop/cafe for 10 years so I know what goes into creating a place like this. I don’t know who the owner is but congratulations on a job exceedingly well done. You’ve got a great product and wonderful staff all in a very welcoming setting. I will always make a point of stopping in whenever I have the pleasure of being in Windsor. I wish you many years of...
Read moreBreakfast here sets the bar high. The meat shakshuka came bubbling in a rich, spiced tomato sauce, perfectly balanced and hearty without being heavy. The scrambled eggs with salmon were just as good: soft, creamy eggs paired with fresh, silky salmon, simple but spot-on.
Then came the cakes, and honestly, they stole the show. The brownie was everything you want it to be: dark, fudgy, and properly moist. The carrot cake was just as impressive: light, tender, with a, creamy frosting and deliciously nutty that wasn’t overly sweet. And the lemon drizzle cake brought a fresh, citrusy lift to finish things off, beautifully moist.
Everything we tried was delicious without trying too hard: good ingredients, hearty atmosphere, well made. A place you’d come back to without...
