5â â Big lunch done right at Moyoâs (inside The Islingword)
First visit and Iâm a fan. I came for a proper lunch and had the Soulfoo Philly Cheeseburger with fries â juicy, well-seasoned, and the jerk/cheddar centre is the signature move for a reason. I asked about the plantain bites and the team let me try some on the house (Iâm a student, so that kindness meant a lot) â sweet, crispy, perfect with a dip. Itâs a family-run setup (two brothers when I visited) with flavours drawing on their time in Zambia, Saudi, and beyond â you can taste the care. They also offer halal options, which is great for friends who need it. Heads-up: they operate inside The Islingword pub in Hanover, so donât be thrown by Maps, just walk into the pub and youâll find the Moyoâs van/kitchen at the back. Also, they open around 12:00, but delivery app hours can lag; the guys said theyâre fixing that. Next time Iâm back for the Jerk Chicken Burger and maybe the wings. Friendly people, great value,...

I don't think you'll find a better sandwich or chips for this value, and can't recommend it more highly if you're looking for a flavourful lunch by the beach!
While Moyos may not offer the widest selection of burgers or customization options, the diversity in the available flavours is far wider and more interesting than any other burger house around. And you won't be disappointed in the result: a fresh-made burger (with love) and perfectly crispy, well-seasoned chips that exceed expectations from an otherwise humble-looking restaurant. With only a few indoor seats and an outdoor table, you'll probably want to grab your meal to go so you can take the few steps down to the Brighton beach and enjoy it there!
And to top it all off, Jorge is an absolute gem of a personalityâa radiant human being who will brighten...

I visited Moyos in Brighton 3 years ago and recall savouring every bite of the juicy burger. 3 years later headed back and it was great to see the standards havenât dropped - quality retained and outstanding customer service by the lovely brothers/owners so much so that we had it for dinner AND lunch the next day on a quick work trip. This time around we went all out and tried everything on the menu - burger, wings and patty which were all exceptional!! As we were unaware of the opening times having returned for lunch, the owner kindly whipped a patty for us despite being closed and I couldnât recommend this place enough - this was a first for us and resonates with the homely feel it has. Canât wait to head back on the next work trip and if youâre ever in Brighton - Moyos burgers are a must (plus itâs...
