I have just arrived home from the pub and I feel that I have to write this review about a pub I have used for many years. First of all they have increased the price of a basic pint of beer up to town prices, which is extortionate for an out of town pub, the management team seems to keep changing and getting younger. The pub stunk of urine and this was not the toilet area this was the whole pub. I have enjoyed going to the pub for many years to watch the football whilst having a pint, and on occasion Sunday lunch(which they no longer do). In their wisdom they have decided to keep the volume turned down and they did not pull the large main screen down, their answer for this was there was not enough people in the pub, eventually a third of the way through the game, after popular demand, the screen was pulled down. I am cutting this short, I think you will get that I am very disappointed the way the pub is being run, unfortunately I will be taking most of my trade elsewhere and I understand that two other people as of today will be doing the same. I think this pub needs to be run by a proper established...
Read moreWe went to try out the food and spent over 30 pounds for the two of us on a small, hugely overpriced, substandard meal, served tepid. We were really disappointed as we were the only 2 blokes there, so there were no excuses for them being run off their feet etc. The pub had also already been open 5 days, so it's not as if they didn't have time to practice or soft launch the menu. The bar team seemed friendly enough, but if this pub is going to survive it needs to open a proper kitchen, not rely on a gimmicky ice cream van where the pool table used to be, who can't seem to get one meal to a table 10 feet away, hot.. We left feeling robbed and won't go back anytime soon. It's a real shame as no one wants to see a pub close down, but unless they sort the food out, this will as it is inbetween the Han and the Constant, two very well established pubs with...
Read moreIt’s odd that I’ve only given the food here four stars and everything else five stars, because the food was outstanding. I had the Jerk Chicken burger and it was amazing, so many flavours going on. My wife’s vegan burger was great as well, it would be good for the burgers to be vegetarian as an option. My wife is veggie not vegan, she doesn’t want to have vegan mayo and cheeeeze. So why four stars? Simple, the accompanying fries were cold.
Loved the atmosphere in the pub, staff were friendly and helpful. No real ales available which was disappointing and I think there could be better transparency on beer prices. Nearly thirteen quid for two pints ( one being Kronenburg) came as a bit of a shock.
We will definitely be back and I will make sure I...
