As soon as you step into Opuz, Wokingham’s newest Turkish restaurant, you’re welcomed with a strikingly beautiful designer interior that sets the tone for a special dining experience. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and clearly well thought out – a great first impression.

Admittedly, our evening didn’t start off perfectly. The restaurant was bustling, and it was clear the new team was still finding its feet. Service felt a little overwhelmed, and the staff seemed out of their depth at times – likely due to the overwhelming response they’ve had since opening.

However, a quick and friendly word with the manager, Ismail, turned things around almost instantly. He was incredibly receptive and professional. We were then looked after by Mahmoud for the rest of the evening, who was excellent – attentive, courteous, and really helped elevate the experience.

The food? Absolutely spot on. Delicious, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour – everything you’d hope for from quality Turkish cuisine. From that point on, the service matched the quality of the food: prompt, friendly, and seamless.

Every new restaurant has teething problems, especially when they’re as popular as Opuz has been since launch. Give it a bit of time, and these small hiccups will no doubt smooth out. It’s clear the team is passionate and responsive – and that counts for a lot.

From the moment we stepped into Opuz Wokingham, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern sophistication and warm, welcoming charm. The food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented, bursting with authentic Mediterranean flavor, and clearly crafted with care and quality ingredients. The lamb shish was tender and flavorful, the mixed grill was generous and perfectly cooked, and the meze selection was a true highlight — fresh, vibrant, and packed with variety. Even the bread and dips at the start showed attention to detail.

What truly sets Opuz apart, though, is the service. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever being intrusive. They made excellent recommendations and ensured our evening flowed seamlessly.
