Arrived at 20:10 and asked if takeaways were available as they were busy and was advised that was no problem. Ordered 4 pizzas and was advised due to the full restaurant, might take 40 minutes. No problem, was happy to sit at the bar and have a drink and wait.
Sitting at the bar it took 3 attempts to be served by the bartender who appeared to not care I was there and this does not mean she didn’t see me. I coughed and said “Excuse me, could I order a drink please?” And was only deigned to receive a response on the 3rd attempt with a “I’m making some other drinks, I’ll be with you in a minute” (actually 15)…
As it got to 40 minutes, I noticed the 2 couples that had ordered takeaway after me had been served theirs. Then a gentleman came in and ordered a further takeaway. After 50 minutes, I enquired where my order was?
Cue, a lot of worried looks and heated discussion in the kitchen. The waitress then arrived to tell me in a haphazard, non-chalant manner, due to a “technical error”, my order had been forgotten/missed and I could now only order 3 pizzas (but any sides and desserts for free)! as it turns out only olives, tater tots or a tiramisu and I would receive a full refund.
With perfect timing, on being told that after an hour of waiting and being told I could only have 3 of the original 4 pizzas ordered as the kitchen had run out of dough, the bloke that had ordered only 10 minutes ago, walked past with his piping hot, takeaway pizza…
I did finally receive the final 3 pizzas and a refund from the manager after 15 more minutes…and finally left the premises at 21:40
Apparently the 3 pizzas that were made were lovely, so on that front well done, but good lord, as a fellow small business owner get your house in order. Tech issues happen, yes but I was told that any other orders that had fallen foul of this tech issue were dealt with whilst i was merely ignored/forgotten, sat at the bar… I appreciate it was a busy Bank Holiday Sunday, I really do, and yes a refund was offered and undertaken but if you’re struggling to complete an order for 4 pizzas and you’re a pizza restaurant, perhaps some increased staff training or an upgrade on your tech...
Read moreWe visited on a Monday evening, we placed an order for a starter and two pizzas. After a wait, the pizzas arrived, and the waitress informed us the "other bits" were just coming. However, by the time I had only two slices of pizza left, I had to go and ask a member of staff what was happening with our starter. We were shocked to be told it was still in the oven and "on the way."
When it eventually arrived, we were even more disappointed. We had ordered dough balls, but what we were served were far from that—more like empty pizza ends or crusty bread, as shown in the attached photos.
I regularly dine at your Falmouth restaurant and have always had a great experience there which is why this poor service and food quality at your Newquay location was so surprising and frustrating as I’m sure you can agree £31 for this wasn’t ideal.

Read morePizza Jockeys is one of those places that just gets everything right. The pizzas are unreal – soft, pillowy dough with perfectly crisp edges and fresh, flavour-packed ingredients that make every bite stand out. You can really tell they care about quality.
The vibe is spot on too – great music in the background (just the right volume!), a proper craft beer selection, and cocktails that are actually worth ordering. The staff are warm, friendly and genuinely make you feel welcome without any of that fake “over the top” stuff.
It’s the kind of spot you can rock up to midweek for a chilled dinner or hang out with friends at the weekend and still feel at home. Honestly, if you haven’t been yet, go – Pizza Jockeys...
