TERRIBLE BAD Experience! What a real shame. I think this is the first time I’ve ever sent food back and complained along with writing a review like this. Would really have liked to write a positive review for a local business in my area but unfortunately I can’t say anything good. The service was so slow and very poor. Apart from one other table we was the only customers in the restaurant so they wasn’t busy at all. They seem to have a few staff members but not well organised at all and seem to lack experience I would say. Had to ask for a drink and had to ask what they do, never got give a drinks menu. The pints of cobra which we was under the impression to be draft were in fact bottles being poured into pint glasses behind the bar, loop warm. The food was so slow coming out. The starters turned up, looked good at first but started to eat the Somosa and it was cold in the middle. Sent it back and they replaced it, yet only to be cold again in the middle, couldn’t be bothered to send it back again. Ordered a platter and Omg!! Was awful. Chicken still pink inside. All the food isn’t fresh I would say, all microwaved. At £23 for the platter you would expect something half decent, even though being so hungry still couldn’t force myself to eat it, all over cooked and loop warm. Sent it back and said don’t worry about replacing it, lost my appetite by now. They did offer to not charge me for it but the bill even with the platter reduction came to £196. (Four adults). Expensive meal out for eating so little. I think the staff thought we was going to run off and not pay ,,couldn’t wait to take the payment. One of the owners I would say, got really on the defencing when we calming asked for the food to be sent back, he then said he would phone call the chef to talk to him about it… but hmmm isn’t the chef in the kitchen why phone call him, very strange. Anyway sorry I can’t recommend this restaurant in any way and will never go back, ended up going into Wetherspoons after and getting some sides as still was hungry!!!! Spoons curry was defo better and a hell of a lot cheaper. Hope others get a better experience, take your chance I guess. NOT GOOD AT ALL
In addition to the review above I did yesterday. Lastnight I got woke up at 2am with really painful stomach pains and needing to use the toilet. Never had that before. The other members of my party also had bad stomach pains throughout the night after eating at this restaurant. What an awful and expensive experience, never again - if this place lasts I will...
Read moreAs this is a new business I was not going to give them the poor review they deserved, but on seeing 3 new reviews which are so obviously false AI reviews, I changed my mind! I have never seen so many customers in one evening complaining (at least 4 of the 6 tables occupied).
Our table only ordered popadoms and mains, which took over two and a half hours. We received 2 curries without rice or bread which followed 10 minutes later. The other two mains ordered were meat platters. One was brought to the table around 20 minutes after the curries, the second one had been missed off the order so the fourth member of our party had a further wait. This arrived about 20 minutes later again, but by this time it was too late to eat. Also neither platter contained all the items listed on the menu. We were given free popadoms/soft drinks to pass the time. I could go on and on about how poor the whole evening was with more detail, but I just want to forget the whole experience. Only positive was that some of the food was actually tasty when we eventually got it!
The issues were put down to staffing issues, which we were assured would be sorted within a couple of weeks, sadly don’t know if the restaurant will survive that long, and just don’t know if I would be bothered trying again.
( Regarding previous reviews about the price of popadoms, they have reduced them to £1.50, but tried to serve us 8 half popadoms at the reduced price, which we pulled...
Read moreLong time Yate resident, love a curry, thought we’d try this new place. Dinner with Wifey and the “Monster in law” (you know I love you really Nanny plum!). A week off so, rock ‘n roll Wednesday night here we go!
I rarely if ever order a starter, but at £2.50 a poppadom, I thought I would 😳 So I had the Lamb Chapli kebab which was really good quality and delicious 😋
Three main courses, Chicken tikka for the M.I.L., chicken Kadai for the wife and a reliable chicken Jalfreizi for me - as I wanted to compare to others. Generous portion of rice - one bowl serves two - a side order of Bombay aloo and a freshly made naan - all were really good quality and the fresh ingredients were noticeable.
Three happy customers and, yes it’s more expensive, but it is a step up from Others nearby, and probably worth it.
A couple of things for them to consider;
• it lacks a little atmosphere, so some more decor, curtains, furnishings may help - but it was quite nice to look out and see the world go by, • no drinks license “as yet” - not the end of the world as we went prepared, • £2.50 a poppadom - seriously, what are you guys smoking!
All in all an enjoyable experience, loved the food and...
