This is our 2nd visit with our little 2 year old. Brilliant service from both the young gentleman and young lady that served us (22nd January evening) , have felt very welcome both times and my little girl loves the colouring sets the children get.

The food both times has been absolutely delicious. There's a small choice but the choice that there is is varied enough in my eyes for most diets.

Puddings were delicious!

Highly recommend!

If we are being super picky the only 2 things we could add would be that the steak could come with a choice of salad/mushrooms/ onion rings or something as my partner felt he could eat alittle bit more after having the steak and chips. And we also felt the beer on tap could have been a smidgen cheaper especially as it was a badger beer and we were drinking at the brewery. But then everything has gone up in price so perhaps its just how it is!

So we had A lovely vegetarian meal with a mango salad. Steak and chips with a lovely seasoned butter. 1 kids sausage mash and peas. Almost an adult portion. 1 kids ice cream (a lovely tub from salacombe!) 2 good sized adult puddings, And 3 pints.

Came to roughly £74. Not the cheapest but we feel the food is worth it and so is the atmosphere.

You can even have a waltz around and read about the history of Hall...

Booked a table for 6, early Saturday evening. In spite of limited menu of only six mains, two were not available. This really limited our choice. As it was, only one option was suitable for vegetarians and none for vegans. The place was empty, so quite how they managed to run out, I have no idea. The food we ordered (steak, fish and chips, burger and vegeburger) was unexceptional, on a par with a supermarket cafe at best. The young waiting staff were very pleasant and rightly apologetic, but there did not appear to be anyone in charge and they certainly didn’t approach our table when we told the waitress we were unhappy. Finally, I should mention the ‘tap room’ bit - three of the six beers on tap had run out. In the tap room. Next door to the brewery. I s#*t you not. Probably for the best as Badger beer isn’t great these days. If I had to pick a positive, it was the excellent low-alcohol IPA I tried. It was shipped in...

Don’t come here if you have a food allergy. The waitress tried her best to advise but the kitchen couldn’t provide basic swaps such as gluten free bread. Only one soup option was available and that included gluten. I was offered the chicken salad without the breaded chicken (not appealing) so I eventually settled on nachos but specified no cheese or sour cream (as I also have a dairy allergy). The food arrived and it was smothered in cheese. By this point I was out of options and we had been waiting ages for the food so I just ate the nachos that had no cheese on, and the guacamole. My Dad (no food allergies) ordered the fish finger sandwich with brown bread but it arrived with...

I only recently found out that this 250 year old family brewery had opened an on-site tap room / pub, so just had to visit. On the outskirts of the main town, this is a fascinating establishment built within the original Victorian malt store, and is packed with memories of the brewery in the past. As you'd expect, the beer range is excellent, and food looked good too - pretty much regular pub dishes, but reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful, though on my visit service was a bit erratic, basically because new staff were being trained "on the job" that day. There's easy parking on site, or it's just a few minutes walk from Blandford town centre. Well recommended.

Potentially a great venue. Went for breakfast. Highlights - looks stunning, lots of family events advertised, some great choices foodwise (good vegan options), and friendly service. Lowlights - food was underwhelming. Vegan breakfast has dry sourdough with no spread, a small amount of bruised avocado and some past its best rather slimy watercress. The vegan sausage sandwich was dry (no spread, didn't have any). The avocado toast though got full marks! Will definitely go back as it's a great setting with great beer, just a shame about the food.

Had a lovely meal here tonight, my partner and I shared a baked camebert , southern fried chicken flat bread and a portion of triple cooked chips. All was lovely, my 2 children had fish goujons and chicken goujons both were demolished! Rebecca was attentive and friendly waitress, we will be back. Thank you .
