Coffee#1 Bridport — Restaurant in England

Large coffee shop serving the usual coffees, teas, pastries, snacks and sweet treats. Visited with family while on holiday for a tea break. Large inside with plenty of seating but the empty tables had not been cleared of cups and rubbish we had to do it ourselves. Was served by a friendly man but felt a bit rushed even though there was no queue. Upon making tea at our table the milk curdled immediately. We brought this up with a staff member and he was very apologetic, could tell that this had been happening a lot today, but he replaced the milk and tea with no fuss and was nice about it. The second batch we received was perfect. All the windows and doors were open as hot day but this meant we could hear the loud traffic passing by, and couldn't really hold a conversation in there while drinking our tea. A little on the...

I really like this place. It is light, airy and spacious, inside thoughtfully decorated and you can also eat outside if you wish. The menu offers good honest down-to-earth grub which turns up hot and surprisingly quickly. The staff were lovely and polite - always a deal-breaker for me if employees just go through the motions. I've been known to walk out of places without ordering if staff can't be bothered with courtesy in a customer service environment. And as a bonus, when the pots of tea turned up, it was proper tea!! I haven't been for a while to Bridport coffee 1. I won’t be returning quickly either! I ordered a cheese & tomato toasted sandwich and I have no idea what this is but it has zero taste. It’s some sort of paste inside it, not cheese & tomato as stated. I ordered a flat white and was asked if I wanted to try the smoother bean for extra. I did and the coffee is far too strong for me, it’s not palatable at all. My daughter had a vanilla milkshake which was lovely. The service was quick and pleasant but they forgot my red sauce and a knife and I had to go back and wait to ask for one.
