The Origami Café & Gift Shop — Restaurant in Great Britain

We love visiting this little cafe every time we staycation near Alnwick with our family (we live in Scotland and they live in England so it’s a good half way point).

The owner Judy has a very special little place here. She’s so friendly and welcoming to her customers and always up for a chat. Great cakes and coffee, awesome milkshakes which the kids go mad for (there are dozens of flavours) and loads of pocket money toys and gifts (stationery, pin badges, purses, lip glosses etc) which our daughter and her cousins love.

Judy also makes cards and wreaths from origami paper which she sometimes sells. They seem to sell as fast as she makes them so worth grabbing if you see one as they make really original gifts.

We were so glad to come back to Alnwick this summer and see the cafe still open as we know how hard it has been for small businesses like this during Covid.

Highly recommend - it’s mainly takeaway as there are no tables inside but you can sit outside when the weather is nice. Great to support a lovely...

We visit our favourite cafe yesterday. We were so warmly greeted by Judy and Teddy. Judy drinks menu is amazing we are trying to work our way through the milkshakes but Judy has added a great selection of seasonal lattes!! Wow they are wonderful. Kiki had a slice of Judy's homemade raspberry rose cake, this cake is to die for. All the cakes are homemade by Judy and they are all sumptuous. Judy is always happy cheerfull and always has a kind word . We love the gifts she has and her origami figures she makes for sale and display. Judy's is a dog friendly cafe . My daughter and I have had many milkshakes over the years and are amazed by the variety of flavours. Judy has become a good friend and she has has a lovely bundle of joy in her new puppy Teddy. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the staff at the Origami Cafe who made our visit to Alnwick so very special. The cakes were absolutely amazing and the milkshakes were off the scale delicious but most of all was the care and attention brought to us by the person who served us our food. How gentle and sweet and kind this person was and so attentive to our needs, as if nothing could be enough to them. It's so lovely when you go somewhere and get this level of service - absolutely above and beyond. As if this wasn't enough the Lady who owned the Cafe brought little hand made Origami birds out for each of my grandchildren and a little bag of white chocolate stars, which was so thoughtful of her. It was such a shame that we didn't get to say "Goodbye" and "Thank you" as the Cafe had become quite busy however I highly recommend you go there. It's pretty fab!
