The staff just go above and beyond to welcome you into the museum with a warm friendly smile. Truly I’ve never met staff members quite like them. They were so hands on with the children, encouraging them to really interact with the items in the gift shop. In particular, they just love the children playing with the stones and gems in the display. Mixing all the colours up and what have you! The really good thing about the place for families is that the museum is in two halves so you can leave early if the children are getting restless.
The museum features lots of items of local history including exhibits that will interest children whilst the adults get to read in more depth, the Hulk (not the green man) exhibition is a good example of this.

Upstairs you have another exhibition about soldiers during the time and a boat that changes when you turn the bottom and then Upstairs you had sailing boats on display. Plus there was another room I couldn't get to see because the floor was being done and there is also a gift shop if you want to buy a souvenir.
