What a lovely and wonderful pub. One of those true little gems hidden away and a delight when you do stumble across them. When you enter the pub you immediately have this warm and cozy feeling and everything about the pub draws you in. The Deco is tasteful and welcoming and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of seats, both inside and outside and there is a bar if you just fancy a little drink. Then menu has a nice selection of some great dishes catering to a multitude of pallets. The prices are more than reasonable and having eaten there are more than reasonable and fair for the quantity and quality that you are served. There is a nice selection of specials that offer new as well as different dishes to the menu or something with a twist. Food is served in a timely manner and is evidently fresh and well prepared. The staff are attentive but not overbearing and make the visit a delight. This is a pub I would not hesitate to go back to if and when I am back in devices.

Called in today ad-hoc as we were in Devizes. Had a lovely late lunch. Everything delicious and cooked to perfection and on lovely warm plates. Very charming and friendly waitress. Without wanting to sound too much like my mother the entire place was absolutely gleaming clean (including the loo).

Pros

*The pub was very warm and welcoming especially with the young children accompanying us. There is a great out door area to sit and smoke. The meals that did actually arrived were of good standard and portion sizes (nothing amazing but nice homely pub grub)

Cons

the elderly lady behind the bar couldn't work the till correctly and was more interested in panicking and faffing than actually taking the order; -firstly she undercharged me and I had to returne to the bar a second time and pay the remaining balance (ok I could have left it but I wanted to check the order was correct, which she confirmed to me. secondly when our food came out I realised they had forgotten about my main meal and had only sent out the side dish. I returned to the bar again and asked for an itemised receipt and realised she hadn't even ordered or charged me for the main, despite asking me what side dish I wanted and sending that side dish out to my table.

For me this was game over. If i was not visiting with children I would have just reordered and waited and ate (mistakes do happen) but seen as the children were well in to their own food I would not have been able to eat my own 20minuets later

(any one with very young children will understand that if you don't eat with them, they do not give you an opertunity to eat when they have finished their own food)

Apart from starving.... over all, it was an lovely pub. It's also worth mentioning that I did not complaine as I wasn't going to eat after the children anyway. I'm sure they would have passed apologise and recterfie the situation, that was my personal choice.

Just don't order with the old lady or you will...

Love that we have this lovely pub in Devizes. Great food, lovely staff, fab service, dog friendly. I'd booked a table here for two of us. Louise called me a couple of hours before we arrived to inform us ahead of time that some menu items wouldn't be available as she didn't want us to be disappointed. We were very happy with the food options still available and also grateful that she was kind enough to inform us incase we wanted to make other arrangements. I had The Gourmet Burger and the Banoffee Fudge Waffle. They had The Cowboy Burger and Warm Cookie Dough Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was all absolutely delicious.

They are also very dog friendly, so it was a perfect place for us to meet and enjoy food and drinks whilst not having to leave our dogs at home. Thanks Threw Crowns, will...
