We recently intended visiting this place for our afternoon refreshments, whilst we stood outside making our decisions our 83 yr elderly colleague decided he needed to use the toilet. He has recently had a cancer affected kidney removed and is on strong cancer treatment medication so he has short notice of when he needs to relieve himself and he gets embarased by this He went inside " The waiting room " to use the toilet but was refused by the bar man and returned to us in a distressed state. I escorted him back in and explained the situation to the bar man who replied "not my problem " and said " he should have come and asked " I then said" well i am asking for him please can he use the toilet as he just had a major kidney operation" to which the answer was "No go and use the one across the road " . Read moreWell, I never did.... been visiting Whitby for decades and never knew this was even here!!! We were up at Abbey and Arch and espied poster saying: "Visit our sister pub. Serves 6 real ales and 10 proper ciders." So we did. It's right on the station platform. Small but very popular and busy. In fact on the Saturday we visited of Whitby Goth Weekend, staff said it was the busiest day that they had had in 7 years. Can believe it as Whitby was a-throng with the masses. Loyalty card system in operation in both micro pubs. The loo facility is for patrons only (obv!) so there is a key system in place if you need the loo. Only one loo. Dog friendly and has dog treats on the bar. Well worth visiting if you are...
