Walkabout - Cardiff — Restaurant in Great Britain

I attended the venue with my partner, some friends and my parents on the 05/11/16. Upon dancing downstairs a member of door staff pushed my partner (5.2ft, 8 stone) across the dance floor whilst trying to get to an incident. As the gentleman walked back past I politely asked him to be a little bit more careful. As a result of this polite request Iwas then being unlawfully, physically removed for being 'threatening'. I did not resist, I just asked another member of door staff why he was acting this way. After being arm wrenched and pushed through some doors I am now stood in a stairway with two doormen, the gentleman who has abused his powers as a doorman and another very reasonable gentleman who is asking me to leave. My suggestion to the respectful doorman was that the aggressive member of staff leave the situation and I will walk out of the club and speak to the manager. The aggressive doorman then shouts at me saying he is going to throw me up the stairs and that I am not to dictate what he does. My reply was still that I will leave on my own accord but please take the aggressive doorman out of the situation... I am then again arm wrenched and pushed up the stairs causing damage to my shoulder. Again I did not resist, just asked the member of staff for his name. No member of staff would give me his name and after speaking to management, who assured me that this type of behaviour was not accepted disappeared into the venue and did not return. At this point I am making a statement to the police when the same doorman then acuses me of again threatening him. I am still awaiting a response from the manager and the police as the way in which I was treated was disgusting. If I had been intoxicated or reacted to this member of staff I would of been arrested. Yet, this doorman had assaulted me and been allowed to continue working. Door staff are no to engage in the use of force unless they are first threatened with physical harm or physical threats of harm. I am utterly appalled by the way I was treated at this venue and will be taking this a lot further. This member of staff has abused...

So not from the area and wanted somewhere to watch the rugby before going on to an event at Utilita . Looked them up and seemed to be a sports bar with great atmosphere with your mates for watching live sport(their words) saw that I had to book and pay a £30 deposit so rang to book and check deposit could be used against food and drink and was told yes also had this in writing in the confirmation e mail . Arrived at venue to realise wasn’t quite what we were expecting! This is a night club( even at 4.30 in the afternoon) with lots of screens so you can watch the match but you definitely can’t hear the commentary or each other due to live band ( then DJ ) with loud thumping continuous music! Anyway had to make best of it as deposit paid . Went to get drink , bit of a delay as very lovely chap behind bar didn’t know about deposits but found out and then no problem. So onto food - a limited menu we discovered though this wasn’t in the written information on website, confirmation e mail plans and we weren’t told at time of booking , ok so never mind ordered what we could then came to pay - oh , no we can’t take deposit money to pay for food! But it said you can? No you have to pay with a card! So another £20 later….. despite best efforts my hubby couldn’t quite manage £30 of beer ( I was driving) so we ended up having £9 left but can’t be refunded ! You will have to e mail I was told - so I have but as yet no reply!! And it’s not the amount of money that is the issue ( though it would soon mount up over several customers ) but rather the mis information -had I known we couldn’t use the deposit towards food then I probably would have picked somewhere else! So come on management please respond and do the right thing - and by the way your staff were just lovely -all very polite and courteous and...

Brilliant Night!! Hired part of the bar back in August - put some money behind the bar and had drinks, the barmaid who looked after us Leah - Absolutely Brilliant!! Fantastic host and a credit to the team in Cardiff, made sure we was all okay - nothing was too much trouble so thank you Leah👍

Kitchen unfortunately had to close that day but we was unaware and turned up thinking we was having dinner, again it was no trouble and they provided us with small menus allowing all of us to have something to eat which kept smiles on everyone's faces so thank you for doing that 💁🏼‍♂️

The only reason I have dropped a star is because unfortunately the managing staff members let us down - I brought a cocktail bowl fully explaining to man in managing outfit (shirt and trousers) the game I wanted to play with it and he laughed and joked and served me the drink, he then waited till we started to come over and say stop and start acting your age? So I replied by saying you knew what was going on you laughed thought it was funny and served me the drinker which he replied "grow up" we then also had another manager who got us all a free sours shot if we did a review, yes we done a review but they wanted a review of all 25 people, when we said No they then removed the shots from the table and put them behind the bar!! It was our own bar for the evening so no one else could have them - bit of a waste and even worse after someone else said to start acting our ages 🙈

Night and venue is brilliant!! Money well spent and Leah was awesome!!
