Nothing Jamaican about this shop food not up to par.......... to response I was rude far from it I asked few questions about ownership which I'm entitled to then I asked for steamed veg which u said u don't serve at certain times your curry goat was thick to much curry powder and it was not cooked out properly not cut up it was left in chunks the rice was not fresh it was done night b4 and the salad was dry the best thing was the hot sauce which u probably paid for and for your information I know Jamaica very well just stick too what your good at fish and chips luv can't take a bad comment without telling lies saying I was rude behave yourself Karen response I'm racist far from it Karen. We had wanted to visit this place for a while as my partner always enjoyed the food when they were on the market place. We went in December, I had seen a Christmas menu on Facebook which was a deal for two or three courses, so I asked about this only to be told it had to be prebooked. I found this a bit odd as the dishes appeared to be all the same ones from the normal menu (except for dessert) but just cheaper, so I assume they just didn't want to do the better value deal. The restaurant was freezing cold, we had to sit with our coats on. The atmosphere was underwhelming, we expected reggae music and a Caribbean theme but it just wasn't there. Being from Birmingham were there are many Jamaican Caribbean restaurants/takeaways and coming from a Jamaican background and being brought up on Jamaican food I have to say Coral Bay was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, everything tasted lovely and fresh nothing tasted reheated. Me and the family ordered brown stew chicken, curry chicken, plantain, fried dumplings, festivals and WOW it was delicious soft dumplings soft festivals the chicken was beautifully done, you could tell it was cooked with love, the staff were wonderful and welcoming, I couldn’t stop complementing the food honestly it was excellent, big up to the chef his wife and his family they treated us really well, if I never lived so far I’d be there anytime I don’t cook, can’t rate them enough definitely...
