German Doner Kebab (GDK) — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Bitterly disappointed with our family visit to gt yarmouths GDK. Having visited several around the country this occasion was let down by stone cold Doner Kebabs that had no trace of heat. Presented to the staff and asked them to feel it as I was truly unhappy with this being served to my wife. Then it was returned with hot chips and the Donner Kebab was the same stine cold offering as before (my good lady didn't tell me this until we returned home), my little mans meal was not hot to boot although this served our purposes. Meals were delivered with a table service, although not at the same time.

Customers were walking back and forward behind the till counter, further leaning over the food counters to talk with food prepares on several occasions without being challenged by staff at any point for the 30 minutes we were seated there. It was the scruffy looking male pictured behind the counter, in the photo behind my wife....

Poor service, no apology and really let the brand down. With over 1.1 million viewing my posts and valuing my opinions; this may be one to avoid.

Clearly the staff don't want to challenge poor behaviour..

Il break this down into a few categories, restaurant, service, food and price.

Restaurant: Very nice and clean, plenty of seating, you can pay at the counter, via the digital menu boards or via the app (QR code at each table)

Service: The staff are very friendly and helpful, the staff were quick as well, we waited less than 10 minutes before our food was ready.

Food: The food was nice, good sized portions, don't let the pictures from the digital menu deceive you, the digital menu makes the food look smaller than what you get, there was a good selection of options and extras, but my wife didn't like the cheese. When I asked, she said that the cheese sauce used was cold, and mixed with hot food, didn't mix well, but no other complaints.

Price: As I mentioned before, don't let the pictures deceive you, we brought 2 box meals, with a few paid extras including chili cheese bites, and paid £31, at first I thought I had been conned a little based on the pictures, but as soon as the food came out, I felt as if I had conned them, it was very filling.

All in all, was a very good meal, very filling, and great value for money, would definitely recommend you...

Food is very good but the “manager” is a let down for the GDK brand and store all in all. I ordered and watched sitting right next to the counter. Manager is taking the mickey out of customers after they’ve left and worst of all the staff that are in the kitchen under him, talking about the Pakistani workers and their country. This guy is very up himself and needs to get the sack asap. If I am getting angry feeling like dragging him outside I could only imagine the workers trying to keep their job. I’ve been to many branches of GDK in London and this manager is a disgrace to the company, get rid of him, needs to be taught a lesson and set an example for the brand. Apart from that the food is good but that really made the atmosphere 0/10. I don’t really leave reviews but this one needs to be seen by head office. Nothing personal but I have businesses myself and I would not tolerate such be-littling behaviour. Been on my mind all day, the way I would handle him. The staff in the kitchen will demolish him if it were a 1v 1 outside the store. Hope...
