Jeita Restaurant — Restaurant in Guildford

I stumbled upon Jeita Restaurant when I was looking for a local place for a quick lunch, and now I want to visit it for breakfast and dinner everyday. Jeita is genuinely a hidden gem, and Rabie, who owns the restaurant, welcomed my friend and I and treated us like family.

The restaurant is welcoming and warm, as soon as I walked in, I felt comfortable and at home. Rabie, who took the time to get to know us and recommended lunch options, is a connoisseur of his craft. He’s super engaging and he knows his menu - we were in a little bit of a rush, and he knew what would be best to order when queried and the timings of it’s arrival. The hosting and service is but one part of the experience which was wonderful.

But now - the FOOD. Because oh my god. We cleaned those dishes up - and what we couldn’t, we HAPPILY took home to finish. We ordered to share the Mezze Platter to start and the Aubergine Lamb Moussakka as our main and please, google review reader, allow me to say, every single item on that Mezze Platter melts in your mouth. The hummus, the baba ghanoush, the stuffed leaves/dolma, the falafel!! Every bite of the mezze, we kept saying, maybe we should order another! It was a generous platter, and honestly we could have had 3 more of it alone! But then the moussakka arrived and I could almost cry at how beautiful it tasted, I felt like I was eating a home-cooked meal by my grandmother. My friend, who had never had Lebanese mousakka (maghmour) before, was so blown away too.

Our only problem was our time-limit, we couldn’t stay longer than an hour, but it was an hour well eaten, well dined, and well looked after. Please, whether you live in Guildford, or are visiting on the way, please visit Jeita and say hello to Rabie and enjoy his beautiful family-run restaurant. Hopefully I’ll be there again soon to try even more of the amazing menu and stay longer this time to order yet another Mezze Platter haha!...

Ok…all I would say is…I will never recommend anyone to visit this restaurant and I will let you know why….🤮🤮🤮 please keep reading this.

The food quality was fine. Their children were a bit dry and with that price I would not expect that kind of quality.

And I just can’t believe they will keep reusing the same source again and again and again…😅if someone dine in there and didn’t finish the source they provided, once the customer gone they will NOT throw it away but they will collect them back and give it to another customer to eat again…🤢🤢I just can’t believe what I see and this is my last time to order any food from there. Seriously? Even after covid and the restaurant did something like that in everyday? I just can’t feel any respect from the restaurant. We pay for it and you provided the food for people in this way? I just can’t accept that at all. After seeing this happening I decided not to use the source that they provided and chose to use what I can found from my kitchen. Not perfect but at least I don’t need to worry about the hygiene problems cause I don’t wanna get sick or covid 19 again anymore.

I am so sorry but I really not recommend anyone come to visit this restaurant anymore it is just ridiculous and disgusting 🤮!!!!!

In Guildford there are still many restaurants with good food and good quality and good hygiene. Not worth to pay for that risk. Blacklist...

I placed my order over the phone and was advised 10 to 15 mins for the collection however 10 mins later they called to say that they do not have an item ordered which was fine by me but then they added another 10 minutes to the order which was a bit annoying.

I then went to collect the order and to my amazement they had not even started preparing the food and their justification was that they wanted to make it fresh after my arrival. This was absurd as the whole point of pre-ordering is that the food is ready when you get there. I then had to wait for another 15 minutes i.e. 35 minutes in total from the point of ordering. I then asked for an additional sauce dip for which they wanted to charge extra - This is generally free in other local shop especially when ordering the quantity we were ordered. I showed my displeasure about excessive waiting and then the additional charge for dip the size of which was minuscule their response was that I am showing the annoyance because I want the dip for free. I was so disgusted that I asked for a refund as I did not want to spend my money where they have no regard for customer service. They responded by saying that I can throw the food outside if I do not want it but I would not get any refund. Absolutely despicable! Will be avoiding this...
