Summary: Waited ONE HOUR for HALF our order (basic sushi platter) and drinks on a birthday meal while the place was dead. Also watched 2 out of 3 tables have food remade (as it wasn’t what they ordered) and delivered while we had nothing.

Went today when it opened and we were the first customers in. Ordered first and no issues at the start. Told the waitress we both wanted a platter and a water. No questions raised our minds until one water came. Thought nothing of it and watched 3 other tables walk in and order.

30 mins later, still no water for myself and watched everyone have their meals be brought to them while we still sat with nothing but one water. Waitress came over and told us our order will be late and gave us 5 small dumplings as a “sorry” dish. We both thought it wouldn’t be much longer now surely.

50 mins since we sat down, we had watched the other 3 tables get food and 2 tables having their dishes remade as they were wrong and their new dishes brought back out while we still had no sign of our order. Almost ready to call it all off an hour into waiting now, our food arrives. Well…half. They only had written down half our order. They offered to make the other part but since they took 1 hour to make a platter containing basic sushi, how long would that new platter take? We ate the platter and paid for the one platter and left. Been here many times before and had no issues. This experience has made me question whether I want to come back now especially after ruining a...

Restaurant wasn't busy on a Sunday but we waited over half an hour just for one single starter. Music was so loud we had to ask for it to be turned down. The staff were friendly but this is not real Japanese food. Bento box had sashimi instead of hot salmon - never seen this before and it wasn't clear on the menu. The quality of the miso and raw salmon was pretty good. Everything else was not. The lettuce was rotten. There were no pickles in the bento. Some of the salmon had cream cheese - unsuitable for lactose free diet but not marked on menu. The tempura prawns tasted like they were cooked hours ago. The teriyaki chicken had way too much sauce - impossible to taste quality of the chicken. There are small ramps at the toilet doors that are unmarked -...

Booked a table at this restaurant ten days ago, we received an email confirmation with the correct date and time. Arrived on the day and the restaurant was closed. We called the number on the email confirmation and spoke with staff at Everest in Market Harborough. We were told that the website states the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays - as if we were supposed to look for that before booking! We wrongly assumed that being able to request a booking via their website and having an email confirmation of the booking was enough to guarantee the booking. Staff at Everest were as helpful as they could be but very disappointing and clearly faulty booking system. Not sure if we will try again as it has left a...

Never even made it to our meal. Booked a table for my family for my birthday, we were all really looking forward to our meal. Waited a day after submitting my request and received a booking confirmation email, so somebody had clearly given the OK for my request. On the day we parked the car, walked to the restaurant and was met with a closed sign. Called up the number provided and was put through to the staff of the Everest in Market Harborough, who were as helpful as they could be. Turns out the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, and they never should have confirmed my booking in the first place! Drove home and got an Indian takeaway instead, extremely disappointed. Shame.

Decided to give this place a try - very nice and fresh tasting sushi, we had the platter for 2 and it was more than enough for us. The only thing I cannot recommend are the desserts; the 'Green Tea Ice' does not look presentable as a dessert at all, it's just like a green tea foam on a plate? The 'Japanese Cake' isn't Japanese cake at all, it's just a bigger mochi, so if you were expecting a traditional fluffy cake, do not order! So the 3 desserts are, Mochi, Bigger Mochi or Green Tea Foam - avoid! Overall though, the sushi tasted great and the price is typical for sushi and I can't knock it down a point over the desserts.
