I don't often go out but when I do I enjoy a nice drink. Unfortunately that was not the experience here. I started off with a Blue Moon (which didn't come with a slice of orange that it should come with) and it tasted off and very bitter. I then had a Doom Bar ( one of my favourites) that came flat and again tasted off. No where near the creaminess that it should be! I ended up getting a John Smiths which was nice and creamy and nice head that you should expect from a JS. Unfortunately I then decided to end with a pint of Guiness...what a big mistake that was! The head was not creamy and think that you expect but again it tasted off...nearly somewhat watered down! It more than likely wasn't but didn't taste anything like the amble nectar that you would expect from a Guinness. I have been in Whetherspoons up and down the country and have to admit that The Sugar Loaf is by far the worst one I have ever been to. So much so I dare not have anything to eat in here. Please sort...

Well what can I say about this place found a table had to clear the glasses and bottles off the table waited and waited for a waiter to come over in the meantime 4 people had been served still waiting 40 minutes later my partner got up walked over to the bar asked for someone to serve us food and drink then a waiter come over only just come on shift he was full of apologies then he went to kitchen came back to tell us that it had closed because short of staff then we asked for the head offices telephone number he didn’t come back so we went up the bar again and asked another waiter which all we got was they were very short staffed and apolized didn’t get any food and drink just an absolute disgrace would not recommend anyone to go to this place Wetherspoons is usually good but this is the worst one I have ever been too definitely will not be returning again big staffing...

The worst Wetherspoons ever!! I am from Torquay and we have the green ginger which is awful!! But this place is another level! Food cold garlic bread raw I was informed that one of the meals were supposed to be cold I said maybe contact other branches as they have always been hot however the duty manager was lovely gave us a refund very friendly and the lady that bought us our food was also lovely don’t order steak and ale pudding as that was so cold it was I believe just shown the oven not actually put in same with the garlic bread such a shame as the actual pub was beautiful just let down by food the chef was clearly uninterested as when going to the loo he was just stood flirting with a young lady maybe he should focus more on the food and less about...

Cordwainer Very disappointing.Called in today for breakfast with my partner Both breakfasts were cold so we asked for a replacement. The very pleasant waiter apologized and came back with our breakfast which had been allegedly changed. The breakfast was still lukewarm so I sent it back.I asked the waiter to ask for a new hot breakfast not the same one reheated. My partner was hungry so he ate his.I hoped third time lucky but no !A slightly warmer breakfast a rubbery overcooked egg, burnt bacon, hot sausage , no toast as I had eaten the only hot part of the first breakfast! Disgraceful !! The waiter offered me another breakfast or a drink I declined and ate part of the lukewarm one

Staff friendly, nice place. Food disappointing though. We ordered Chicken and bacon salad and Mediterranean salad. This photo shows the bowl my Mediterranean salad came in - I had eaten a couple of salad leaves at this point. My husband's chicken and bacon was extremely scant on salad too. Previous (Quinoa) salads I have had have at JD Wetherspoons come on a plate/bowl and were full. I think it was expensive for the food we actually were served.

Clean, good food, two meals with a pint each for under £18, unbeatable. Always look out for a Wetherspoons for value and The Sugar Loaf was outstanding. Also the restrooms was very clean It seem to have a very young team who seem be proud and enjoy their workplace. Actually 1 of the best Weatherspoons I have visited
