Excellent! Went to see a photographic exhibition which was superb. The museum collection on display was a complete bonus, no idea so many items originated in Market Harborough beyond corsets. Would really recommend a visit when going to Market Harborough or even just make this the focus of your visit, although the town is well worth a mooch round. Downstrs at the museum is a lovely coffee shop too. I will certainly visit again! The museum is FREE so ideal for everyone!!

A museum with free entry on the FIRST FLOOR of the building. Due to renovations you currently need to go up the back stairs. There are no famous exhibits, but you can see a lot of items from the lives of local residents over the last hundred years, as if pieces of eras were piled up in the windows.

Free access and really beautifully laid out and curated - a great combination of the history of the building itself, Market Harborough history and ancient Roman history - a quick and manageable visit you can do with kids of any age (and bribe them with an ice cream from Gallone’s next door!)

Really lovely little museum. We took the kids on a rainy, windy day to see the Hoard and Roman helmet and thought we'd probably stay for 30 minutes or so. We must have spent over an hour. The exhibition on the hoard is very well done and captivated both children, parents and grandparents. The eclectic collection in the back is a treasure trove. Difficult to read and see every detail but interesting to see which bits captured whose attention and imagination. It seems like the sort of collection where everytime you go you spot something new. And I've definitely played the flounder game so next rainy day project is to go up in the attic to find it! The whole space including library, CAB and cafe is lovely and clean (the toilets were sparkling!) The couple of ladies we spoke to were very friendly. Exceeded expectations and will be on our list of things...

Fascinating museum on local history of Market Harborough and the surrounding area. Very good set of displays on the town industrial history. Especially interesting was the extensive display of the Iron Age coin collection from Gallatin. This was a huge discovery, and has coins dating from ~ 50 BC. It's amazing when you see the intricacies of the coin designs. There had to be very sophisticated metal working skills to produce...
