Friday night dinner for two. It was fairly busy but with only one staff at front of house, the lengthy wait to be acknowledged and seated was somewhat disappointing but bearable. Servers were a mixture. Look, I know it's a tough job with low pay, so I always try to be friendly and engaging. Wasted on one girl who clearly didn't want to be there, unresponsive with a forced smile falling off instantly. The manager needs to gently point out that they are likely to earn more in tips by being welcoming and friendly even if they hate being there. Conversely, a Thai (or Filipino?) lady who wasn't our main server was delightful in every way. Now to the food which was really poor and reflected rushed sloppy cooking by the chefs in what must be an indifferent kitchen. The starters were both undercooked and over cooked in equal measure (calamari, batter soft and pale not crispy, barely warm and woefully undercooked and tasteless) and (risotto balls, excessively deep fried and hard with a fairly unpleasant centre which didn't taste of anything) Mains: my friend had the veggie lasagne which came on a hot plate with the contents literally boiling. When it eventually cooled enough to eat, it had become a liquefied mush, totally unpalatable. My dish of king prawn linguine was actually quite good, tasty and spicy with decent texture and sauce. Well done at last! the worst thing is to leave an eaterie feeling disappointment and regret that you chose poorly. Unlikely to go again, with so many great gastro pubs a few minutes drive into the surrounding country it's easy to find good service and excellent...

valentines weekend...they could not cope, the food was barely cooked, or overcooked, the service shocking - spaghetti Bolognese with a dessert spoon maximum of the Bolognese, a complete rip off, this I would expect at Frankie and Bennys kids menu! the staff were so not coping with the quantity of customers, it impacted on their politeness and memory for what we had asked for (im talking basics - serviettes, ice in a glass, jug of water when we have the glasses). I asked to have our main course come out about half hour after our starters, I was told that's fine at point of order. Then, after starters I was told that if the order does not go in straight away we could wait an hour, but its a 35 min wait time, I said perfect, he then said but it could be 10 mins...I said your chefs are able to work back on timings so that I can get the food in half hour so we can relax and play some games with kids. he said its def more likely to be 35 mins. Within 5 mins our main course arrived!!!! i was so cross, I may as well have not spoken. the customer experience tonight was not important, all the chain cared about was turnover, in and out, pack them in. Well im sure we as a family of 5 wont be the only ones to not go back ever again. don't go everyone its not worth the prices they...

My wife and I decided to book our favourite Italian restaurant for our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately they couldn't get us in so we went to Zizzi. In the past we have enjoyed Zizzi mostly, but on this occasion we were given a table that was about 50cm from 2 other couples either side of us. I should of turned it down but couldn't see how close to other couples it was when offered. Anyway, it went down hill from here. After ordering drinks while the 4000w spot light bulb lit us up. My wife began to choose her meal from the menu while I poured the beers from the bottles to the glasses like a real gentleman, and waited for my wife to finish reading the entire menu twice. For some reason I then decided I would move her drink(just in case she knocked it over) in the process I then launched the entire glass down her dress. As you can imagine this didn't go down too well and hearing the gasps of both neighbouring couples I knew it was bad and my wife instantly wanted to leave. I do take the blame, but when the menus are bigger than the table you're on, there is very little room for error. Could of been nice but just too squashed in! There's always...

After an afternoon shopping with my teenage son in the wonderful array of second hand shops and boutiques in Market Harborough, we decided to stop at Zizzis for a drink. The sun shines beautifully on a nice day onto the tables out front so we sat outside, watching the world go by and raking in the lovely buildings opposite. The waitresses were very polite and came out to take our orders. My son had a good choice of nice soft drinks...mint and watermelon I think he chose! Both out drinks were beautifully presented with a sprig of rosemary and mint, which made our little moment together even nicer. Perhaps it was the sunshine that made me ask my son if he'd like a desert to share...he chose a chocolate fudge Sunday which can with 2 spoons! It was delicious, indulgent and made very special by the relaxed surroundings. Zizzis is as close to cosmopolitan as you'll get on that strip amd a lovely place to have a meal, a drink or, like us, a little desert!

Lovely restaurant clean yet slightly dark unless your seated by the windows. Prices fairly consistent with other Italian restaurants and quite frankly rather expensive. However zizzi offers 2for1 Sunday-Thursday with meerkat movies code. We got 2 starters and 2 mains and paid around £12 so definitely worth the price. Definetly take advantage of this offer to try out the menu. The portion size of the pizza is huge and I initially thought it wouldnt be enough but in fact I could only manage half!. They pride takeaway boxes too for any leftovers. My friends King prawn starter was amazing very flavourful however my calamari was pretty bland. Both pizzas however were very delicious so I would come here again. Lastly there isnt much parking nearby we had to park at sainsbury and walk over (10/15 mins) Overall perfect for many occasions and with the 2for1 offer it's value for money and accessible to all.

Got to be a low 4 this time, would have been 3 but everyone has a bad day. Love driving to this particular Zizzi as it feels like a restaurant and welcoming Great staff and service, location is also perfect. The wild boar starter and garlic bread were great, so was the carbonara and pizza. What I like here is the prawn starters and the picante hot pasta and is the only thing I eat at Zizzi. Unfortunately this time round both king prawn starters were bland and the pasta was dry, wrong type and no harissa heat. What a shame, hopefully it’s back to normal next time, as the best king prawn starter has been from here. ( apart from Blue Peter before the chef left)
