The Three Horseshoes — Restaurant in Harlow

Arrived in a very friendly manner with a group of family friends. No gang mentality at all. Was refused to be catered for whilst all other families and friends were being served food. Being a type 1 diabetic didn't help as I had to dip into my own work stock of chocolate. The reason given was that our group was too large. I am 5"10 with an average BMI. No way shape or form am I large. Our group was so friendly we ended up buying £100+ of drinks as we were being humiliated and deprived of food. Sickening behaviour from staff bringing out the platters for all other paying customers but us. Felt very intimidated and victimised. Ended up at a real pub garden down the road who were so polite, even if they had beaten us with barbed wire truncheons we would've still thanked them.

Under new but very experienced management - we had a really fantastic lunch at this recently refurbished and re-opened pub, tucked away in a really pretty village. The atmosphere was great; friendly and welcoming. A few locals at the bar, and plenty of diners - would suggest booking ahead as we had done. Decent Tap Social beer, the rosé Sangria also a highlight. Food was outstanding. Rabbit naan with carrot ketchup was excellent on the starter menu, on the mains the burger was as good as you’ll eat anywhere, slightly fatty and moist, excellent hot skinny chips. They also do fantastic pizzas. Kids menu was good too. The chocolate pud was big enough to share, and the meal was capped with some really good strawberry Limoncello - homemade I think! Fun and friendly service, we had a great day...

Pre-booked a table two days before. Upon arrival there was no table available. Staff kept us waiting 15 mins at the bar for drinks and eventually pulled a couple of tables together to accommodate. The food was alright. I was over charged by £15, which I only realised when I got home. But that wasn't the worst of it. After our meal my husband and son tried to play a game of pool, and were heckled and abused by a couple of local muppets who were eagerly looking to start a fight. The landlord did nothing and we had to abandon the pool game and leave! Definitely not a family friendly pub meal experience. We will never...
