We finally returned to our favourite pub, The Bull Inn, for my partner's birthday after a 2-year break — and what a comeback!

Last time we visited, we hadn’t checked if our favourite chef, Jason, was working, and the food just wasn’t quite up to the usual standard — I even remember ordering mushrooms with cream and getting mushrooms with hot tartare sauce instead, which gave us a bit of a laugh afterwards. It put us off for a while, but we were excited to give it another go.

This visit, though, was a total 180° — and to our surprise and delight, Jason was still the chef. The difference? Every single dish was spot on, beautifully presented, and full of flavour.

For starters, we had smooth, rich pâté served with fresh baguette and butter, and perfectly crisp whitebait — both delicious. For mains, we enjoyed a tender chicken supreme with a creamy stilton sauce, and a Hawaiian burger that was juicy, flavourful, and fresh. Everything was cooked to perfection and served piping hot.

The service was just as memorable as the food. Chrissie, our server, was an absolute star — attentive, friendly, and full of charm. She’s like the fairy godmother of the pub, sprinkling warmth and cheer with every visit to the table.

After this evening, we’re officially back as regulars. The Bull Inn, with Jason in the kitchen and Chrissie out front, is exactly as it should be — welcoming, delicious, and worth every mile of the trip.

Our heartfelt thanks to Jason, Chrissie, and the whole team for making our evening...

Visited the Bull Inn on 15/01/2023 . Upon arrival our party of four was greeted and attended to immediately by a lovely waitress who sat us at our table which we did pre book. I had already decided previously what I was going to choose from the menu as been to the Bull previously but noticed that they were still doing a Xmas set menu. I did over hear the waitress advise another party that this menu needed to be pre booked but she also advised that she would check with the chef to see if there were any spare , luckily there were so I asked the same question and glad I did. The turkey was absolutely beautiful and such generous portion as well as generous portions of three seasonal vegetables for all of our party and the chef also gave us an extra dish of vegetables which all were beautifully cooked and most welcomed. There was so much choice on the menu so something for everyone as well as lighter lunches if required. We also had beautiful desserts which I totally recommend . Prices are so reasonable and food is beautifully cooked and presented beautifully also. Thank you for making us so welcome and also forgot to mention on how quick we were served our meals, amazing for such a busy popular restaurant/pub. We will...

Had the sausage an onion pie dish, everything was ok until I started eating an the pie which was only Luke warm at a push (the chips were piping hot). Now I politely asked if I could have my pie hotter in which they took my meal and brought it back out again, trouble is they warmed it up in the microwave, which not only made everything taste soggy an piping hot but ruined the chips too, that was on the plate. If only they had removed the pie an warmed separately that the meal would of been fine, I just thought it was an in correct way of doing it. I may be wrong, genuinely if the whole meal was reheated in an oven, then the gravy would have a skin on the top, so I'm assuming the plate was microwaved (could be wrong). I won't be coming here again, sorry. Other then that the waitress was great an was polite an apologetic an the beer was good to. Pricing wise, I'd say a little over priced when looking at the quality of whats been served, especially the...

Visited here recently for the first time with my family whilst on holiday. Service was good and the food was excellent. It's not poncy but good home cooking and very tasty. I had Bacon Rolly Polly for the first time in over 20 years!! Not since my mum made it, it was lovely and very filling. My wife had the steak and Stilton pie, which I must admit tasted beautiful. I was a bit jealous, lol. The staff were all very accommodating regarding us having young children there too for dinner. Overall a great experience I would highly recommend it.

Nice little pub which has recently been renovated on the outside. There's a car park to the rear and a nice beer garden. The inside is rather dated and makes you feel like you have gone back in time (but some people might like that). Huge menu, with plenty to choose from. Good size portions and quality of food not bad for the price. I ordered the bacon and brie burger but the brie was cold and not melted at all like you'd expect. Otherwise, it was pretty good.

A wet spring night! It was dark and scary walking to the pub but a warm and cosy traditional bar awaited. Bingo was being enjoyed in the other area and the comfy sofas and good beer were welcoming. It seems we missed the great garden and even the wonderful food the offer of 2 for 1 burgers was on another night. Drop in if your passing for some refreshment and comfort
