Pebble Beach Café — Restaurant in Havant

We visited here on Tuesday wanting a proper cone of ice cream. Having seen online that they have Kelly's Cornish ice cream, we hastily visited. I also much prefer supporting small businesses over large chains.

The lady behind the counter was lovely and I cannot fault the service. However we were extremely disappointed by possibly the worst ice creams we've ever had. Both were clearly from a tub of Walls, atop a bargain basement pale beige cone and not a proper tasty cone. The salted caramel was particularly awful and inedible.

We ended up eating a couple mouthfuls and binning the rest. Total disappointment for £4.50 each, especially given the promise of 'cornish' ice cream.

Utterly rude staff. I ordered two ice creams and a milkshake, ice cream is absolute value brand and not the Kelly’s Cornwall advertised. Anyway I was given the ice creams then asked what I was waiting for, I said “oh just the milkshake” to which the older lady serving said quite loudly “God some people are so impatient, can’t they see how busy we are” - Considering I was simply answering the question and actually wasn’t at all impatient, this was rude and insulting. After checking Google reviews of various places to eat along the shore at Hayling Island I plumped for Pebble Beach and I wasn't disappointed! A lovely owner, very approachable and helpful, and the quality of her coffee and cakes was second to none. The Bakewell slice that I chose was very toothsome, totally delish!
