Advised after spending up to 3 hours( not 4) there when it was moderately busy (MODERATE)that they don’t allow patrons to spend this amount of time there spending (£7.20, on two teas and egg sandwich while working on a laptop Saturday ) and about £14.20 day before on f r y up and freind had one too) came back in the afternoon and bought 2 teas in afternoon. Previous week bought fry up with freind again and according to my bank statement 3 more purchases; one roast dinner ,one quarter pounder with chips and one tea. Add to that multiple orders on Uber with father and multiple weekend lunches and dinner. Food is great, atmosphere nice, female waitresses generally very kind( Lily is lovely and genuine) but the attitude and contempt demonstrated for regular customers by the 30 something male waiter and the grey haired guy is jaw dropping. Never experienced such contempt from a restraunt towards their customers. Only restraunt in Borehamwood where I have experienced this. The only other one Delisserie , who were known for this kind of thing went out of business.
My father has spent £80 a week there he estimates and experienced a similar attitude, like he was some vagrant. He is 83 years old.
Perhaps they could give all customers an alarm clock and kick them out within 30 minutes unless they spend another £20. I am sure all the OAP residents would love that and it would be great for...
Read moreI was surprised that out of the many eating establishments in this high street that only a couple were open before 09:30 am. I had a traditional breakfast, 2 rashers of bacon, 1 fried egg, 1 sausage, around a cup of baked beans, about half a plate of french fries, 2 toast and what I thought was an expensive mug of tea (over £2), all came to £9.90. The service was good, the sausage and french fries were fairly tasteless, probably due to how much they're willing to spend at the cash and carry versus profit although there did seem to be more staff than required at least on the morning I went in. The atmosphere seemed a bit tense from the female staff members. No problem but once finished I felt as though I was required to leave after sitting for 5 minutes to digest my food and there were only around 6 people in the cafe and a laptop user that was there before me and still there when I left, not sure if he actually was in charge but he didn't appear to have any food. I don't often go out for breakfast but I would go here again just to see if there is a suggestion for people to move on quickly even on less busy times, it's strangely...
Read moreFood is average but today told the owner (small..bald...unshaven chap) that he would no longer be getting my custom.Asked him politely something about the menu and he reacted as if I had shot his entire family. The owner is permanently unsmiling..unwelcoming. and curt.Lately staff almost demand you order your drink before you have even taken off your coat. No welcomes....just a stoney faced ''drink''? Only go here if you don't mind a business not appreciating your custom...Go instead to...
