We had the pleasure of visiting Epicurean Lounge for the first time yesterday and to say we were impressed would be a massive understatement. It was an absolute joy to visit. We had been doing dry January and decided to celebrate the torture of this being over by a well earned cheese and wine session.
The Lounge is really cosy and has really nice decor, lots of little cubbies to sit and enjoy your beverages. They have books on sale and their large selection of wine is beautifully displayed. They are dog friendly and have water for your pooches, unfortunately we wouldnāt bring our dog as there is no way she would behave herself with so much cheese on display, but other, less cheese orientated dogs would surely enjoy a visit.
We had the pleasure of talking with Claire, the owner, she was wonderful and you could tell she is so proud of her business, and with good reason, itās an amazing place and we are so lucky to have this venue in Hinckley. It really sets itself apart from other venues in Hinckley because of the classy niche of its excellent cheese and wine selection.
My fiancƩ went for a bottle of red and I went for a bottle of white, both of which were devine, the staff were also really knowledgeable of their selection of wines, happy to give advice and give recommendations which was great. In fact, all the staff we met yesterday were very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Then there is the cheese, which was beyond incredible, we went for two cheese boards, with a total of six cheeses, all very different, and all very tasty. The cheese boards come with a generous portion of chutney and a great selection of crackers.
I want to give a special mention to their espresso martini, I would consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of this particular cocktail, and the one at Epicurean Lounge is one of the best I have ever tasted, great strong coffee taste with a nice hint of sweetness, a hard balance to get right, but this one did, and of course, it was nice and boozy!
I canāt recommend Epicurean Lounge highly enough, itās an excellent venue and we will surely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEpicurean is a welcome addition to Hinckley's bars / eateries and offers something different with it's menu of nibbles, grazing boards and cakes. There is a great choice of wine and cocktails and we spent a lovely afternoon catching up with friends and enjoying drinks, nibbles, cheese and meats. Unfortunately they had run out bread which was disappointing but managed with crackers instead on the ploughman's board. My only issue was that it was very warm in there on a humid day and as it was raining all afternoon, sitting outside wasn't an option. However we will definitely go again - I would recommend booking if there are a few of you and you plan to stay a while. We booked and were given a great table with plenty of space for 4 of us. The service was excellent and we were very well looked after and never left...

You can be assured that in the presence of staff, you will leave with a friend having curated an environment that is open, friendly and comfortable whilst being acceptant of all. The times I have walked in after a poor day with my mood lifted I simply cannot put a price on, the atmosphere is invaluable and Claire is someone who devotes time to get to know her customers on a more personal level, constantly supporting your wellbeing whenever you visit. The coffee and cake whilst the star of the show are not the sole reason you should visit this beautiful little spot, the good people that form the business most definitely are. 5...
