Urban Fuse Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Horsham

I had never been here before Lovely atmosphere and managed to get a seat near the window as it was mid week. Not a good start As it was very hot outside I wanted a cold drink Asked for one of my favourite drinks and they did not have it in stock although it was on the menu. After asking for two other drinks which were “out of stock” whilst deciding on the drink that they actually had the waitress decided to serve someone else. Really sorry but I was still going through the list of drinks at the time so I pointed out that I was still in the middle of being served . I settled for a sandwich but was not told what bread I was getting !! So not a good start really Shame as the lunch...

Was expecting good things but was a bit disappointed. Maybe we caught them on an off day. The waiter seemed grumpy. The food has such potential if only a little more care was applied.. a side salad with no dressing, my husband’s eggs Benedict came with mayonnaise instead of Hollandaise (?!) the brioche buns were burnt and the bacon seemed to be reheated. We also waited about 40 minutes for the below average food. The atmosphere and decor is so lovely so we were very disappointed that the food (which is pretty basic and not that hard to get right) did not match up. I don’t usually leave reviews and am not overly fussy, but I just feel it wouldn’t have taken much effort for this to be good....

The food in this cafe is extremely poor. I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for my son and I, and it turned up in one huge, hard lump on the plate. They had mixed the salmon in the egg and microwaved it - disgusting! I would never expect to pay £12 for microwaved food, especially not eggs which are so simple to make on the hob. The lady serving us said “of course the eggs are microwaved” in a very rude tone and only took one of the meals off the bill. I will never go to this place again.

Updated - I would just like to clarify that I took two mouthfuls of my meal to try the food, after which I approached the owner to send it back, so your response to my review is...
