We have just got back from a Fantastic meal at Amore in St Ives on the Quay, fabulous service, attentive & friendly staff. The minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the restaurant was very clean, with comfortable seats, the ambiance completed an enjoyable night out. The Prosecco was one of the nicest I have tried, all 4 courses were out of this world,we have visited many an Italian restaurant, be it here in England or the many places we have visited in Italy, Amore was up there with the best. Outstanding flavours, the Risotto was delightful & my mixed fish dish ( salmon King prawns & sea bass)on a bed of salad was to die for. We had a lovely bottle of Sangiovese, sadly not many Italian restaurants offer this bottle, another feather in Amores bow, we throughly enjoyed it. The 'fatto a mano" Tiramisu was "justa like me mamma useda make,' please excuse the pun, it was so so good. Please come to this restaurant if you ever come to St Ives, it is on the river, we were very fortunate to see a seal bobbing along the river. Thank you so much for making our dining experience enjoyable & a massive thank you for the gift, we will think of you when we open it.
Much love Jeff & Sue Spenceley Seaford...
Read moreWhy go to Venice when we have San Ives? I've just come home from St Ives after having the most wonderful lunch I've had in ages. I chose a Sea Food Pasta which I loved, I've not had a pasta as good as this since I worked in Italy in the 70s. My wife went for a linguini chicken dish, she liked hers too. Washed down with a couple of glasses of wine, plus a beer. Rounded off the meal with a couple of very generous proportion "double espresso". Will definately go...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at this cafĂ©. After waiting a long time to be served (I managed to read 20 pages of my book while waiting), I noticed that other customers who arrived after me were served first. When I finally got the serverâs attention and asked if they had oat milk, he curtly replied that they only had regular milk. I then ordered a black tea, and he didnât even bother to ask if I wanted sugar.
To top it off, when I went to pay, I noticed the board listed tea at ÂŁ2.50, but I was charged ÂŁ3.
Overall, the service felt inattentive and a bit unfriendly.
I hope they work on improving the...
