Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Huntingdonshire

Where to begin, went in there today with my daughter to grab a few drinks a couple of people ahead of us so not expecting a long wait 30 minutes then roll by as apparently it takes 3 workers to make a single drink for the person in front of us, finally next to be served and 2 of the workers one from the till and one standing there decide having a chat about there lives is more important than there customers, looking at the cake selection while waiting and a swarm of flies on all the cakes so instantly put off that idea, place my order and the person making my drink decided to up and leave the counter to have a chat on the other side of the building with someone else leaving the person at the till confused as to shy they have left the coffee making area, also this shop closes at 4pm every single day not open as advertised on Google and website I normally love Costa but this particular store ruins it for everybody...

It’s really difficult to separate Coffee chain stores, the coffee the food the decor all of it is essentially the same, so to stand apart from the rest is in my mind, a truly exceptional feat.

So what makes Costa in Huntingdon High Street so special? The staff.

The staff are so so so incredible from the top to the bottom truly amazing. I worked in town for a decade and everytime I came in on my break no matter how busy it was they always made everyone feel welcome. Funny and dedicated in equal measure they got me through some incredibly tough shifts.

So much so that I haven’t worked in the town centre for 2 years and I still come back a few times a week because the atmosphere and general vibe makes it a wonderful place to be.

Manager has to take a lot of praise as hard working as they come and such a genuine person, the team is a huge credit to them.

This is the best costa around when Rebecca is there and the worst when she isn’t. We visited today the 5th of September and my wife took a seat at a table while I queued to order, she’s had an operation on her back and suffers when she has to stand for too long. One of the staff members told her to get back in the queue with me, she did this in a manner that caused great embarrassment and she left her seat and returned to the queue with me. This episode was conducted without empathy or kindness and although I expect rudeness in many of the places I visit this particular Costa has gone through the floor in my estimation. I...
