Excellent haddock, chips and (large) peas which compare favourably to that offered by the numerous chippies across the UK I've visited in the last forty-odd years. The service deserves a full five stars, lovely people. You can call and order in advance of collection reducing the wait time. There is a restaurant area which I have used once with family and found a pleasant experience though the tables at the front are a bit too busy with the counter, people waiting and the front door. The prices for eating in are reasonable. The (takeout) meal totted up to around £14 which is in line with other local takeaways. Fish and chips hasn't been a cheap meal option for a while now - every component has rocketed in price from potatoes to oil and that's before you even consider inflated energy costs, rent and business rates. Please note it is strictly cash only which seems a little limiting as it will turn away some casual customers. I haven't routinely carried cash or even a debit card in years so would be unable to just 'drop in' on the way past the (very well placed) location in town.

First of all I didn’t notice any sign saying cash only (( Drinks - coffee machine broke the day before Food - I only had plain haddock - which was ok (I didn’t eat the batter due to oil) - and there was no lemon - not even to purchase; no tartar sauce - so for me the fish was just a stomach filler without any pleasure as I was really hungry. Next time I’m won’t get persuaded (( Heavy oily smell and not tasty mayo 3 month after best before ;-)) Paid £22.90 for 2 haddocks and 1 chips. No drinks, no sauces. Won’t be visiting again ((

We stay at St Ives for one week every year and always enjoy coming to this Fish & chip shop for one of our meals. This year Oh! What a disappointment. We dined in as usual. A young lad took our order. Did not really know what he was doing. The food was hot and quite nice but the portions were small compared to the the price paid and what I would receive in London for that price. The person in charge was very unfriendly and did not seem to want our custom. When the bill came we was overcharged by around £4.00p. We queried the bill and he blamed the lad for not putting down that two of our party had ordered the Meal Deal which they had. Then he had charged for two cups of tea which when ordering we pacifically had asked if the drink in the meal deal could be a cup of tea and we was told yes. He was not happy to change the bill to the correct amount. Then as one of the ladies had asked for portion of Scraps which normally are given away free in Chippies he charged her £2.00p for them. Also luckily we had cash on us as he told us it was Cash only but we did not see any signs up in the restaurant or on the menu to warn us of this. We will not be returning to this shop ever again and nor will a lot of our friends who also come to St Ives with...

I've been this pace once b4 and not a problem would of given 4 star for it but Saturday night the manger i believe it was or boss was one of the most rude and pass aggressive experiences I've had in a food place I ordered a chicken wrap and chips but charged me for a iterm twice as must must of thought I'm drunk and stupid but I had 4 pints and when I told him I didn't order that he became very loud and persistent I did I let it go grudgingly but got home to find chips was dry and dark brown just manky to be honest . I know what I'm on about as a personal ex military chef. Not a happy...
