OK where to start, Haveing seen many recent good reviews we thought we would give the new Darjeeling under new management a try. We ordered online for collection for 6.00 pm acknowledgement received order available for collection 6.20 not a problem. While I was waiting for my order I thought I would also pick up a copy of latest special offers and menu. With plates ready on my arrival home and while starting to plate up we noticed some additional poppadoms not ordered nice start. Onion bhaji looked very nicec if a bit bland, it was only when eating I noticed they were very floury and not at all well cooked. The other starter Also Chat was all potatoes looking very aged overcooked with lots of sauce. The mains Tandoori Salmon with special request extra well cooked, well cooked, it was not the rest of the dish was very poor quality. Another Main and normally a favourite Chefs special murgi masala, mince was in large chunks chicken appeared to be some old tandoori chicken thrown in for good measure and as dry as dry with the sauce. Additions Saag Aloo more yellow translucent potatoes looking as if the time had been cooked out of the several days prior. Not of course forgetting the salad, brown and decaying. How could this get any Worse? Those online prices 19% more expensive than the menu prices are menu. Onion bhaji menus cost 3.45 online price 4.10, Murgi Masala menus price 9.95 online price over 11.80 and Tandoori Salmon from 12.95 to over 15.40 . I may have been unlucky with the food but the pricing is just wrong. The one star was for the extra popadoms if you were wondering, the food was all very poor with most going in the bin. Take away price before discount over £44.00.

Brilliant Indian Restaurant Dined in here on a quiet Wednesday evening. The service is impeccable, and the food is delicious. Perfect popadoms served with a pickle tray, a great pint of Cobra lager to go with it. I requested a Lamb Tikka Kashmiri (which is off menu) and they accommodated brilliantly. It was absolutely delicious, and served with a wonderful naan bread. The staff are very polite and professional, and a hot towel and an After Eight rounded off a great meal. I’ll be back next time I’m in Huntingdon, that’s for sure. Lovely clean decor, and reasonable prices too. Couldn’t ask for more.

Chicken still cold and pink in the middle, rude member of staff on the phone trying to convince me that because it was and I quote ā€œcooked twiceā€ that it couldn’t possibly still be pink in the middle, he then also proceeded to tell me that chicken can be served pink in the middle. Delivery driver collected the meal in question and I was promised a refund, two weeks later I’m still yet to receive a refund. Coincidentally when visiting my barbers last week it turns out that he and his brother were feeling rather unwell after having had a takeaway from here the night before.

We'll where do I start...it's getting one star because the food is ok. However the rest is history for me...we started using the Darjeeling about seven weeks ago, we'd always used zohana in st Ives and will continue to do so, but seven weeks ago we thought we'd have a change as we'd never used this place...the one star is for my first experience of this place..we ordered and we collected what was a nice meal...now for the bad...so as you can imagine because we liked it we ordered again a couple of weeks after we'll one they overcharged us and two the order was completely wrong. Now I'd love to go into detail but the order was so out I genuinely can't think at time of writing the exact mistakes but scout's honour it was completely wrong plus the overdcharge. We phoned and got the usual it was our fault, which didn't sit well but I couldn't be bothered getting onto an argument, I diffused the argument by saying it's fine we'll except this food and just look after us next time. ANYWAY NEXT TIME...we'll a week after I ordered just for myself.. which was a starter, main and a keema rice.when I got it home it was a plain pilau rice. There keema rice isn't cheap and so I was wronged on my food again and overcharged again...again I phoned and they said sorry and life goes on...I'm nearly done I promise... yesterday we decided to order and give them one last chance...me and my partner ordered one starter two main two rice and one roti and a keema nann....I made them read back the order more than once so thought no more of it... well guess what...sent plain nann instead of keema nann....we'll phoned them up again explained and got the offer of them sending it round which they did but pointlessly because we'd pretty much eaten our food... well that's my experience of this place giving them chance after chance after chance.. sorry but we're done no more..lost a potential regular customer which we were becoming...we'll stick to our proper regular restaurant from now on. What a shame.

RESPONSE TO OWNER.. FRIDAY 11TH JUNE 2021...yes on one occasion my sums were incorrect which I apologized for as and all was good the food was picked up but yet again on that occasion you got the order wrong...and for the record I didn't start the disagreement with any of this your incompetence to get food orders correct and on the occasion where you mention my partner you did get the price wrong you overdcharged us on that occasion because you added to much food plus the incorrect food... even on the price mistake I gladly admit to you still got the order wrong....lol..the bottom line is you won't own up to the numerous mistakes you've made and your feeble attempt to blame me is laughable bearing in mind all you had on me was the adding up mistake on our last order with you that I apologized for and paid you only for you to get the order wrong again...or are you going to deny that too...as usual of many restaurant manager's when a valid complaint comes there way they will always try and turn it on the customer. Bottom line, out of four orders in the space of roughly seven weeks you only got the first order right...fact..good luck with your business for the future....

The good - hadn't eaten here since it reopened. Food was great but not sure I would use again due to the below...

The bad - ordered a collection through Deliveroo. Paid by card via the app. When I collected the order I was told I hadn't paid. I went to the counter and showed both my banking app and order receipt that showed I had paid. Unfortunately, I wasn't believed. The owner started telling me I got a cash only price, he was losing money and that I owed him money. I had to WhatsApp him my payment receipt as proof. I told him again that I've used Deliveroo and paid the price given so not sure why I'm still being told to pay. Thankfully, he's younger colleagues understood the situation - apologised and allowed me to leave, without paying anymore than I already had.

If you're going to go on a 3rd party platform, I would expect you understand 1) the process of getting your money from said platform 2) the pricing structure and applicable payment method you want is working before you go live. Don't start making it your customer's problem because you haven't checked things work as you want them to.

To add - none of this would have happened if The Darjeeling's own website sold the food at the price that's on their takeaway menu and gave the discount advertised as well. All a bit of a mess and undermines the...
