ADD ON IN REPLY TO OWNERS REPLY

I DID NOT ASK FOR THE CARROTS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE MIXED VEG PREMIX, I ASKED IF THE VEG INCLUDED CARROTS THINKING THEY WERE PREPARED SEPARATELY, UPON FINDING IT WAS A PREMIX, I IMMEDIATELY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE FINE - THE REST UNFOLDED AFTER THIS - TRYING TO JUSTIFY YOU RUDENESS WITH THIS INCORRECT REPLY IS VERY, VERY LOW TBH, AND THIS WAY OF REPLYING SHOWS YOUR MENTALITY. NOBODY TREATED YOU LIKE A SERVANT, YOU CLEARLY HAVE THE WRONG ATTITUDE FOR THIS KIND OF BUSINESS IF THAT IS HOW YOU SEE THINGS.

Our order was

A jacket potatoes with tuna and cheese Homemade steak pie with chips, veg and gravy One portion of cheesy chips, with a side plate, for 2 children to share. A slice of ham, and a slice of bacon (happy to pay for the sandwich in both cases) -Children's Sausage roll and chips. -Drinks

So everyone is aware of our unreasonable order ???? We Visited yesterday, like many people we have fussy children, and my partner has allergy issues.

Whilst we were trying with the very polite staff to sort out the order, a man who was working in the kitchen came out, I suspect he owns the cafe.

He was extremely rude in his approach to us, and raised his voice at us and told us off for asking for things that his till couldn't do. He didn't know how to charge us and this was our fault, cost was not an issue to us, as we are happy to pay a higher price, if that's what's needed. For example, if we need a slice of ham added, we'll pay for a sandwich, unfortunately it seems the way forward is to raise your voice at us, and become angry, without provocation.

The problem here, was his approach and rudeness. We are perfectly reasonable people, and if he had explained in a polite and reasonable way, I am sure we would have understood the problem he was facing, unfortunately he chose to be rude and aggressive with his attitude without warning. We were rather taken aback by this approach, that came from nowhere. So I told him that we were leaving, and that we wouldn't be spoken to in that way, he chose to behave like this in front of our children who are 10 years old and below, they were all sitting quietly taking it all in. They were very upset by this episode.

Shame really, as we have been before and enjoyed the food, and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating.

There is a lot of choice in Ipswich, I suggest that if you have any allergies, or might want to change an item on the menu, that you go elsewhere, as you risk being told off in a raised, rude way.

What a rude, horrible man tbh, and very...

For years I have walked past this place but never been in. First impression was good, plenty of seating and friend staff. Coffee was nice, the amount of cream was a little excessive!. Food was OK, I wouldn't say I was blown away by it, and kind of expected a little better. The whole place felt like it could do with a spruce-up. It isn't a greasy spoon nor a posh or quaint little tea shop. Somewhere inbetween. A few basic DIY jobs and a bit of cleaning would tidy it up nicely. The toilet itself was clean, but the room was a bit dirty with cobwebs hanging form the light fittings. The fake flowers were dusty and in dire need of a going over with a damp cloth. Simple little things, that have clearly been missed for some time.

Response to Response- They are indeed very simple dishes, which is why I was surprised the sausages were overcooked and the bread a little stale. I can understand being open 7 days a week doesn't allow much time for upkeep, but shutting for a day once every now and then would be time well spent. I will be sure to visit agin soon and give it...

I feel really sad that I feel the need to write this review. I have been coming to Jacey’s for a few years now it’s mine and my families favourite place to go for breakfast. That was until this morning. Me and my family were looking forward to coming into the town for breakfast which we do every year close to Christmas to get our last Christmas bits. There were 11 of us in total all ordering breakfast. When our teas came we asked for one extra cup, the young girl looked at us as if we had asked for a kidney, she refused to give us a small tea cup as we would have to order another pot of tea. I found this extremely greedy as we had ordered nearly £100 worth of food! We then asked for another couple of sachets of sugar as there were only 4 sachets between 11 of us. Again, the lady was extremely rude and was very reluctant to give us any extra! it’s very sad that we won’t be returning to Jacey’s as the food has always been very tasty. However, I believe costumer service can make or break an experience and today it has been broken and we felt...

Oh my,! What a pleasant surprise, hidden away in the back streets. I was early for an appointment and came across this gem. I ordered a bacon roll and tea. Wow.! There is real loose tea leaves that you strain as you pour from the pot. (The pot stays hot for your second cup). The bacon "bap" is a real handful, not just one rasher of cheap bacon, but filled with delicious slightly smoked and not salty bacon (It's even served with some salad). The staff are professional and welcoming. Yes, I will be back. Thanks.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Though there's no music played here, it's a cosy cafe with an old-world feel. I personally recommend the Jaceys club sandwich or something from the breakfast menu, though I hear the burgers are really good too. The coffee pulled from the espresso machine is rich and comforting, and the tea is served as leaves in a teapot with a strainer. Try and get here early during the week as it can get quite busy. It is a perfect place to take a friend for coffee and a catch-up.
