I can’t comment on the coffee because we didn’t stop in. We went to the new Bex’s coffee rather than the original cafe excited to try somewhere new, but were put off when the guy serving was really rude the a customer in front of us just for asking basic questions. There were no labels, allergens or prices on the cakes and when he asked prices, what one was and if there was a menu he got a really frosty reply. Theyre also not taking card, which is fine, but there should be signage before you go in. They were asking for bank transfer or cash, which again, fine, but most people need a card reader to do bank transfers and I don’t really carry one about. We didn’t have any cash on us, and again as the guy in front of us got a really curt response when asking if he could pay by card so we decide to skip it, wander to town and go to arcade. I’ll definitely be trying it again and taking cash with me, I love that the beans are roasted on site and the new space looks really lovely. But there really should be cake prices, labels and allergens. He said it’s because they’re baked new every day, which is fab, but it’s not hard to write this out quickly or have chalk boards. I know working in customer service can be knackering, so I may just have been in on an off day. Will definitely amend if it’s a more positive...
Read moreVisited today, they were extremely busy and short staffed. I had ordered for collection and I did have to wait 20 minutes longer than I was told BUT they were totally open and honest with all the customers who went in and were working as hard and efficiently as they could (they only had 2 moembers of staff on shift, one who was cooking and one making the coffes, taking orders and running orders to tables). If they were my staff i would be really proud of them, and when i did get my order it was cooked to perfection. I am a manager myself and I know how hard it is to) to find enough staff to work at the moment, i have the flexibility to call in agency staff but you just don't hear about any agencys that have baristas so it must be 10x tougher for themin the...
Read moreWhat a strange little place 😳 We felt uncomfortable from the minute we entered the place but felt compelled to sit down. I ordered our food and drink at the counter and presented my bank card. I was told "we prefer cash". I saw the card machine so asked "but can I pay by card?" The lady, rudely said again "we prefer cash". Luckily we had some money on us. Whilst we waited for our order we saw 4 other customers all pay by card, no questions asked (some served by the same lady who served us). Really odd 🤔 We quickly ate our 'very average' food and couldn't wait to get out of the place to be honest. Safe to say we will not be returning due to it's strange atmosphere and very strange...
