Chef Canton — Restaurant in Kirklees

From Customer to Victim. I've been coming here for over 3 years now and ordered a takeaway consisting of Special Fried rice, Chips and curry sauce..I was not impressed to find out that the chips were not fresh...they were re heated chips from the day before..! When I called the shop to complain they simply told me that they were fresh almost insinuating that I was not truthful on this matter.! I have always enjoyed the chips from a Chinese takeaway but these were well below standard and not what I would call edible.. Perhaps I was just unlucky enough to be one of the first to walk through the door and subsequently ended up with everybody's heated up leftovers from the previous day.. The young lad who answered the phone did say he was sorry...however that's not a cure for food poisoning..!!! I would suggest that health and safety and the food standards agency pay this little place a visit as soon as possible... Someone could end up with serious health problems eating from here..or...

First time visiting Chef Canton after driving past it countless times.

Firstly, this place is very busy. The phone is constantly ringing and people coming in and out all the time to place orders which is a great first impression! A few of things to note, it’s cash only, they do local deliveries but are not on any delivery apps such as JustEat etc. The lady at the front was really polite and attentive.

As we’d never been before we were a bit overwhelmed with the extensive menu (which I’ve added to the photos.) we decided to give the salt & pepper box a try with some egg fried rice and shredded beef with Cantonese sauce.

The food was actually really tasty and full of flavour. The salt & pepper box gives you a taste of all of salt & pepper options available singularly.

The pricing is very good for the portion sizes, we’ll definitely be coming here again! Can’t wait to try more things...

the food was absolutely disgusting, i would advise anyone to avoid this takeaway at all costs. the chinese curry was far too oily, the chow mein was sloppy, when i placed this order i specifically asked if the onion rings were proper battered chinese onion rings or frozen, i was told they were the chinese onion rings and infact they were frozen, the whole meal was inedible. when i phoned to express my disapointment with the meal there was no concern or apology just an 'ok' first and last time i will use...
