As a visiting fan not a bad venue. Good transport links (we came by rail) which help with the whole atmosphere. Local fans were friendly and we had no issues. A good friendly police presence as well which was reassuring. Access to the away end is simple enough but some steep steps to get down (if you come from the car park) before you get to the turnstiles. There is a disable route as well. Once in, the open air food court provides sufficient options to eat (pie, burgers, chips) and drink (beer, soft drinks). Access to the seating is straightforward and provides a good view of the playing area. Might need to watch out if the practice net is on this side, as there is no other protection for flying balls which go into the crowd (how can they get paid to practice all week and still miss the goal?). Getting away at the end was good as easy and we were back at the station within 15 minutes which was helpful as we had other connections. Overall (apart from the result) a pleasant place to go to....
Read moreEnchanting and unique style to this stadium!! It's also set in a rural area. But the design with no corners gives the ground a windy exposed and chilly feel. Can't help thinking with square straight structures they could have increased the capacity by another 10k !? No under cover concourse either, so it must be miserable in the away end on a wet day. Quite bizarre that the home team do their warm up at the away fans end.....so our players were 80yds away. We took 1400 fans and sang all match even though the standard of football on show was poor. Huddersfield fans employed a drummer to whip the fans up, but their support was sketchy. 7 hours on trains to get here.....was it all worth it !! Yes....of course....up...
Read moreThe view from the away end is pretty good. The seats are well spaced height 6 even when standing, the view shouldn't be blocked. Unless a freak of nature is in front. The facilities, however, are somewhat dated and not built I to the stand. Be prepared to queue for the toilets and refreshments. There is a carpark at the Gasworks Lane, which costs £5 plus a booking fee and needs to be reserved online from Huddersfield FC. It's close, but getting out takes a while. Overall, it's not a bad place to visit, and the Huddersfield fans are a...
