The only thing this McDonald's has going for it is a convenient location. It's meant to be 24 hours, but regularly closes in the early hours, without warning. Sometimes for at least a half hour. That could be a dinner break wasted, or even a taxi fair. It shouldn't say open online, if you're not. This is becoming more common.
There's usually more rats in the car park than cars. Yes, I have also seen them going inside via the back door. Though a staff member did promptly chase them out, it still doesn't give a brilliant impression of hygiene. Perhaps the bins need emptying more frequently, or maybe some industrial rodent deterrents. It's common to see the bushes looking alive with the amount of rats in them.
The service is poor. It's not often I go there anymore, but I always find myself surprised if the staff are pleasant. Usually there are no hellos, goodbyes, or even general manners. I'm lucky if I receive a grunt while paying. More often than not, I just get a card machine shoved in my face.
The food is usually poor. I've had meals without fries and ice cubes when I requested non. I've had clap cold burgers and the wrong burgers. I've had Big Macs with no sauce, Big Macs with no cheese. Usually the food is luke warm at best. I've found that asking for a modified meal, i.e adding or removing something usually gives the best chance of getting a hot and correct meal. It's usually cold, dry and takes 15+ minutes in an empty restaurant.
It's not always bad. A few months ago I received great service from the young lass at the Drive-thru and the meal was perfect. I really enjoyed that. It's a shame it's not like that every time. It shows that it can be done. I filled in the feedback survey online, as I often do. It's important to recognise good service, as much as bad.
I'm not sure if it's the franchisee, management, or just the staff, but this McDonald's is a poor one, even by...
Read moreLove the flowers outside, but wish they put as much effort into customer service. Food is ok when it arrives on time, but at Leeds Road restaurant it can take a long time to serve in-restaurant orders and sometimes food is a bit sluthernly presented inside boxes, fries regularly short portions and coffee short measures. Lobby staff are very helpful but if there's an issue with food, order, or recently for us the Mcdonalds monopoly vouchers, management are quick to shun any responsibility and have a poor attitude to good customer service. Too much emphasis is always given to prioritising drive thru orders leaving customers in store left waiting for pickup or table service and we're forever asking table service to bring sauce or sweetener and milk sachets for hot drinks, as staff never bring them. But I will say some issues are the same at several local Mcdonalds we go to within a 10 mile radius.ie: Salterhebble, Gallagher Retail(Hudds), Birstall and Brighouse. Which does make me wonder sometimes why we bother going to any. There's also not enough parking spaces and is awkward when very busy, to get into carpark as vehicles for drive thru cross the carpark entry point, stopping anyone else to get in passed. On a good day its a great restaurant, but on a slight or reasonably busy days, it can be a nightmare to get into and get...
Read moreAfter a fun (term used very loosely) wander around IKEA with my mother, girlfriend and filling a trolley with interesting weirdly name items we all decided we were hungry. So after driving round and getting through the hoards of drivers who got their licenses from a kinder egg we reached the drive through. Thought at first of walking in and picking up a order but in their wisdom Ronald McDonald had coned off all the parking bays. So onward we went to the box of muffled voices which was great for my mother who's hearing aids had decided not kark it. Then (don't know who's idea it was) the joys of the split queue system and dwarfish parents in large SUV's deciding the cannot see you and won't let you in but suggesting to them that our car would be cheaper to fix a scrape on than their panzer child carrier. Finally getting our order then having to find a place to park and eat the rapidly cooling food substitute and trying not to spill them. Also McDonald's ice cream machine was actually working (I sh*t you not) but we only found this out while collecting our order which made my girlfriend a little unhappy. I suggest you use the drive through if you fancy an adventure and not get much condiments even though you ask. Thank god IKEA will be allowed to open it's...
