Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Knowsley

After spending a lovely family weekend in Prescot with our daughter and partner we decided to enjoy a Costa coffee before heading back to Newcastle. As soon as we arrived at 3:35 pm we were told we only had 20 mins. Before we could make our order the contents of the display cabinet were being removed. Our order totalled £20 and was served in disposable cups and paper bags. We were then told we could not sit down to enjoy our order even though the cafe did not close for a further 20 mins as advertised on the placard at the door. The staff were more interested in being out of the door at 4pm. Disgraceful customer service and a disgrace to the organisation!. Very unpleasant experience. On Sunday 28th of April 2024 I visited Costa above Next in Prescot. My friend and I waited 20 minutes to pay for our coffees etc. When I got to the front of the queue to get our drinks and food i was tod by the chap serving it was takeaway only, despite serving the customer in front in a proper cup etc. He said this was because he had to clean the shop as it was closing in an hour. I asked for a refund and left. We then went to another Costa in Tesco Prescot. That Cosco continued to serve customers to stay in-house until it closed.

I cant help thinking what lazy staff they have in the costa above Next. Never go there again. People with poor attitudes towards customers do not deserve the jobs they have as the ruin the reputation of a good...

Been served by Megan today. I was charged extra for an item I didn’t ask. (mistakes happens ,I get that) apology is enough. But couldn’t hear even that. The spoons been dropped into my tray rudely and face expression was already telling a lot. The lady before me brought back her food to complain about it (wasn’t sure why) and the attitude was the same ,disgusting .
