What an absolutely brilliant find by a very special friend, who made me aware of this place. So this was the first visit for the both of us.
The chef was absolutely brilliant, I particularly like how he cooks in front of you, rather than hidden away in a closed kitchen. He shared some tips with me and, as a keen amateur cook, will definitely come in to use. He explained about the dish I ordered (flank steak with rosemary fries), which I highly recommend if you like your steak. This was cooked to perfection.
The person I went with ordered the lamb shawarama. This was accompanied by Arabic rice, the rice had great flavour and was fluffy and light.
We both had a try of each others' dish, and both agreed they were exceptional. Again, the lamb was cooked to perfection moist and melted in the mouth.

However, what started as a delightful meal unfortunately took an unexpected and peculiar turn. Mid-meal, we found ourselves subjected to unsolicited propaganda, a jarring and extensive discourse about birth certificates linking to cash bonds, strangely culminating in references to the Wizard of Oz. This bizarre and out-of-place narrative, delivered with an unsettling earnestness, significantly tainted an otherwise perfect dining experience, leaving us both with a distinct feeling of bewilderment and an overall overwhelmingly odd impression of...
Read moreWow, fine dining indeed! Three of us had lunch today (one soup, one corn beef hash where even the brown sauce was home-made, and one small falafel dish). The owner told us his filtered water was the best possible - well, everything was the best possible, including the water. Excellent, well-balanced flavors and presentation with top-quality produce. The restaurant itself is lovely, despite being relatively new it has old-world charm, right down to the perfect cloth napkins on the tables.
Highly recommend, and I will be back to try the delicious sounding rice pudding (sadly had lunch following a large cooked breakfast at home so no room).
Thanks for the best culinary experience (ie lunch) I've ever had...
