This place is unreal, we are lucky enough to have this fantastic restaurant a stones throw away from our home and we have visited many times but tonight was above exceptional. We wanted fish and were greeted with a variety for fish dishes on the specials menu, halibut was my choice and the monkfish was my husband's choice they both were fantastic, cooked to perfection lightly seasoned but just enough not to spoil the wonderful fresh fish, which might I add was a huge piece. Like I said, the food is always good, and I don't know why this restaurant isn't drowning in food awards. The staff are so professional front of house are always smiling through the pressures of a busy environment, but I have to say whoever the chefs are in the kitchen they should be proud of themselves because the food is exceptional the kind of food that makes your Christmas baubles tingle. Merry Christmas Francos, here's to many more amazing visits. 😙👌🤌

Came her to have a quick lunch whilst shopping. Ended up ordering more than we needed but still finished it. Whilst the staff is very friendly, they’re just a little niggle. When I told them I was sharing with a three year old, they failed to let me know that the dishes were cooked with chillies. Maybe it was my fault for not seeing it on the menu but it should have been pointed out to me. Ordered spaghetti for the little one afterwards but served linguine and whilst not a major prob, the little one did point out it wasn’t round enough lol. He ate it all tho! Asked for strawberry ice cream and was given strawberry sorbet. Again it might not be a big thing but sometimes if it’s not what is ordered, at least let us know before serving it to see whether it was okay first.

Stumbled upon this gem when plans to get burgers across the way didn't pan out. Glad we did - 10 stars for the service. Franco & his son were super friendly, & we enjoyed recounting stories of his prior restaurants, moving up to Leeds & the joys of cycling! I had the lobster ravioli which was delightful & my partner had the risotto - which he really enjoyed. There's a small section that has heating (in case you're dining now til May) & a larger outdoor section without heating which is where we sat - it was perfectly fine if you're bundled up. Would definitely come back when back in the area! Thanks guys!

Sandwiches and takeaway service absolutely excellent. Women serving at the deli were very nice, polite and attentive.

The manager/host who gatekeeps the door has no people skills whatsoever. Restaurant is not busy at all-takeaway side is. Purchased a sandwich at £7.00, sat outside to vape for a few minutes before going back to work. (it was pouring with rain also) I was sat for all of 3 mins.

The host came outside to give me a telling off and a lesson in restaurant tax. Apparently, I didn't declare I was going to sit outside-so he subsequently implied I leave the establishment as I wasn't paying to sit outside.

There is a way of talking to customers and explaining in a way that is not condescending or disrespectful. They did not want to apologise and the hosts attitude was laughy and patronising-he then called me argumenative as he couldn't explain his reasoning behind wanting me to leave.

I have never in my life been asked to leave a restaurant as I didn't declare I was sitting outside. I also did not fit the demographic of the other customers-I may be wrong, however there was no need to behave the way he did... It was unnecessary and impolite. I think he just didn't like how I looked or was not the right 'customer'

Shame as the sandwiches were great. Feels like they only want a certain type of people visiting the restaurant.

Don't visit if you are of a darker complexion. It's pretty obvious what the...

Only went to this place because the greggs next door was closed. Went inside to look at their ‘deli counter’ which we were informed closed at 3, but then told we could just share a pizza and so we thought we would. Got shown to a table and then promptly a waitress came over. Asked what we wanted, which we already knew was going to be a pizza, after saying we were going to share one she said ‘as a starter’ and we said no. She was very visibly annoyed that this is all we wanted, quickly said okay and went away with the menus to the man who seated us, who looked to be talking about us and the lack of things we had ordered. We then noticed that all tables around us were receiving their complimentary bread basket, whereas we had our plates and butter knives taken away. We received our food and they'd already cut in half for us, the waiter placed it down without saying a word. We received disgusted glances from the staff members the entire time we were sat, which wasn’t long as we ate and left as quickly as we could. We felt embarrassed and belittled. We only wanted something light so we were not going to be ordering much, the man we spoke to at the start was aware of this, but no one seemed pleased. I work in hospitality myself and know all customers should be treated the same regardless of how much money they’re spending. Would have had a better pizza and service from next door, it’s a shame we ended up...

I’ve been to Francos many times and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

I recently visited with some friends and it seemed like all hell had broken lose at Francos - absolutely rammed with large parties and not enough staff.

We waited an hour to even be able to order our food, and another hour for it to arrive. The food only turned up when I chased it with the manager. Other tables had arrived after us, were served, got their food and left before we even had our food.

The food wasn’t up to their usual standard because they were so rushed. A lot of the staff seemed new and not sure what to do, the customer service was not there.

The place was packed so full the waiting staff were repeatedly bumping the back of our chairs because they had brought in tables from outside. Not a very relaxing experience! It was so loud in there you couldn’t hear the person sat next to you.

Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend anyone visit at the weekend.

As for Francos so called reply below: he seems to like to argue with anyone who gives a negative review. You may think that this kind of experience in a restaurant is acceptable; I do not and your reply has just ensured I never come here again, and never recommend it to anyone again. Well...
