The stuff of cheese induced nightmares.
On our first visit yesterday, my 13 year old daughter had a severe allergic reaction to the first morsel of her cheese sandwich (her only known allergy is for Hazelnut?), probably/possibly due to something in the over abundant mayo, (the overuse of rich sauces in both sandwiches was most unwelcome and detracted from the subtleties promised on the menu).
Whilst she choked, her face swelled up and she retired to the toilets to vomit profusely, the staff seemed only concerned with ensuring the bill was paid...in full.
Compound this with a £34.00 bill for two cheese sandwiches (as I said, ruined by over rich and over abundant sauces), a portion of cheesy bread, a coffee and a soft drink. It's worth saying again ...a £34.00 bill!! The stuff of cheese induced nightmares indeed
Cannot recommend.
Edit: the reply I received (below) only exacerbates my disappointment.
So there were nuts in the Mayo of that sandwich. Can you point out where that is indicated on your menu? None of your staff, including kitchen staff, seemed aware that there were nuts in that sandwich when I asked at the time....
In fact, I was assured that there were NO NUTS in that sandwich....
I was offered the sandwich as a takeaway as an alternative to "throwing it away". There was no third offer of recompense. Believe me, we didn't want the sandwich.
Your detailed response only reinforces the fact that your staff were very well aware we had a problem and it was clearly brought to their attention at the time, despite your claim to the contrary..
If it was indeed your general manager to whom I addressed my concerns, I would 100% have expected a more proactive response. What part of choking, vomiting and swelling face would suggest there wasn't a problem that should have...

We went for the signature fondue and weren't disappointed.
Alongside the creamy cheese fondue dip, we had an array of top quality small plates to enjoy.
The roast potatoes were fluffy and seasoned perfectly. The foccacia was so fresh and spongey. Both of them made the perfect carby dips for the fondue.
We also had the pigs in blankets which were so tasty and the drizzle of honey was the perfect addition. The honey theme continued with the roasted parsnips and carrots.
The pickle plate was a nice addition and added something different. Couldn't get enough of the confit garlic!
The quality doesn't stop with the fondue, the designated driver mocktail made with homemade peach iced tea was incredible.
The desserts of tiramasu and cheesecake rounded off a perfect meal.
The staff were so attentive even when it was busy and the atmosphere was perfect for a midweek date night.
The price for the quality that is delivered is great value for money. We'll definitely be back and also will be trying their...
