Went to this restaurant tonight for a friends birthday meal with a party of 13. Our reserved table was ready on time, and the friendly staff had us seated and with the wine menu nice and quickly. We were sitting in the top dining area, accessed by a wide and easy to navigate circular stair. There is downstairs seating as well, and at level access for anyone with mobility issues.
The restaurant was clean, tidy and well decorated, a comfortable temperature and welcoming. Overall it was in a good state of repair, and the seating was well spaced out - despite 13 of us at the table, it didn't feel cramped.
Having never been to a Turkish restaurant before, or had Turkish food, I had no idea what to expect, and played it relatively safe with my order. Starters all arrived in a reasonable time frame and were delivered to the table without anyone having to wait too long. Main courses followed in the same way - and the staff helped make sure everyone got what they ordered. All the food looked great and appeared as described, was hot and tasty and looked to have been freshly prepared.
During the meal, staff were on-call and kept our drinks topped up and made sure everything was ok, without hovering over us or making us feel pressured.
The toilets are downstairs, and include a good sized disabled loo and a baby changing area - all nicely decorated and clean. While taking photos for the review and saying thanks to the chef for a lovely meal, we got a glimpse of the kitchen, and it looked as clean, tidy and hygenic as everywhere else in the restaurant.
Prices were good for the meal with starters in the £5-£8 range, and mains in the £13-£18 range, with some deals / happy -hour offers as well.
Overall we were very happy with our meal - we left stuffed to the gills with really tasty food. I'd be very happy to recommend the place for a good meal - either a quiet 2 person meal or for a family or...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our visit. Their outside sitting area is fantastic. Heaters and provided blankets let you to enjoy the meal under any weather conditions. Tables were nicely set up in advance with small touches (such as flowers that are not plastic). Cutlery/plates/glasess were cleaned the same as toilets and the area inside. Service was really good from the beginning till the end. We were served by the owner (yes, he was serving, not just hosting) and 2 lovely waitresses. Got water on the table straight away, before asking. They didn't have wine that we asked for but they recommended us another one, which was lovely (they didn't try to sell the most expensive one, what was unusual). To start with we had hot sharing plater. We enjoyed everything, my only advice would be to explain food a bit (falafels and patates koftesi look similar). For the mains I had "special" which was slow cooked leg of lamb, my partner went for Konak grill (a bit of everything). Gosh, that lamb was really soft and tender, very rich in flavour! Desserts were amazing as well, but the next time we might share one (portions of mains are big). In general, we just want to say thank you. Great atmosphere, good service, very reasonable prices and delicious food. We will definitely come back and recommend this place to others. See you soon and we wish you the best luck in the...
Read moreVisited here a couple of weeks ago. It was a Friday night, we hadn't booked and just turned up at 8pm on the off chance they may have a table. The service we received was outstanding and they couldn't have done anymore to accommodate us. We chose to sit outside, and the terrace area was lovely even on a chilly autumnal evening. There are plenty of heaters and blankets on every seat, however it was so cosy they had to turn the heat down! The food was simply delicious, couldn't fault it. I had the Anadolu Tavuk which was one of the best things I've ever eaten anywhere in the world, it really was that good. My partner had the chefs special lamb and although that too was great, she spent most of the meal wanting more of my Anadolu Tavuk after trying it. We didn't get a dessert, however my partner had a traditional Turkish coffee that came very well presented and also included a box of Turkish delight, which I ended up eating. I would absolutely return here again and I'd love to try more on the menu, but that Anadolu Tavuk (did I mention that already) really was so good, I'd probably have to get...
